That salesperson needs to get his BUTT kicked for trying to screw you out of a case. Does the manager know that the salesperson tryed to charge you for it. Or did you just ask if the case should have been included.

What's their policy.......we'll try to charge people for the case if we can get away with it. I certainly hope that's not the situation.

Fabulous top there ghunter. I'd almost forgo the case for that top.

The top on mine does look excellent as well, but isn't caught too well by the photo. What I like about it is it is has no blank areas and the ripples are small (I prefer that). But got to abmit the top on ghunter's is one of the best I've seen. I really like that burst colour, but the only one I could find didn't have a top anywhere near as nice as that one.

Nice guitar... betcha can't play just one! :D

Welcome to the boards - always nice to see another Axis convert joining the ranks - gotta keep these Pet owners in their place! ;)

Quite a nice Axis, Abraxas. I like the way gradient fills in like a subtle burst.

I got out the Murphy's Oil Soap today and cleaned away the dirt from sitting on the rack. Not only did I discover a beautiful piece of wood (it was that dirty!) but it just flows that much better now that the wood isn't so dry. Perhaps someone at MM should tell GC that these untreated necks need some TLC while they're on display?

So now a question to the other MM addicts here... what's next? Is there a MM model that has the smooth bite of the Les Paul Standard?

ghunter, if you'd like me to post some pics of your guitar for you just send them to me. That is one sweet looking axe.

Here's the Axis SS in its new home. Even after speaking to the store manager they insisted that these guitars do NOT come with cases as standard. He let me trade the gig bag straight across for the HSC ($40) and I took the deal just to get it over with.

I also cleaned the neck with Murphy's Oil Soap (as recommended by MM) and the neck not only looks better but plays smoother too.

Now maybe I can just shut up about the case and get on with playing it :)

The manager is/was full of crap man!!! :(

Contact EBMM customer support, you'll have to wait until Monday since they usually work 4-10 hour days.

Nice Axis, non-matching headstock my favorite. :)

Looks like everything worked out great.

That is one beautiful top on that guitar. You'll probably be practicing on that thing in front of the mirror. :D

Customer service is there to help Mon-Friday:cool:

I only say this because I saw the mistake....Please don't call customer service because GC or anyone didn't give you a case with your guitar...That is between the customer and the dealer.

As much as I'd like to follow up with this, it's just not worth my time any more. In the end I got $50 off (huge Memorial Day sale, huh?) and wasted maybe 2 hours screwing around on the phone and waiting in the store for them to figure out how to ring it in properly. Completely not worth it.

The guitar itself is incredible and I've put in the time to clean it all up and put new strings on it. If it was just an average Fender or a super-expensive Gibson then I would have already returned it out of principle. As much as I hate to say this, I still have half a mind to take it back :(

If you pay me what I paid for it, you've got a deal!

(If I do take it back, I'll turn right around and order another one from Guitar Showcase in Campbell, CA - where I should have gone in the first place!)

Nah, keep it and move on.

You're rightly a bit pissed at the whole process now, but a few months down the road it won't even register.

Now, if you find that the guitar is really not for you -- different game entirely.

Good point Keith. Personally for me it wouldn't have mattered if Saddam Hussein was the salesperson. I'd still be happy with the guitar.
