melbourne, have you been to Guitar World up there? bought my luke from them, great shop. I also played the two Y2D Morses they had up on their site, they came to melbourne first for the guitar show to be displayed. the aussie supplier had a stall there and i asked if one of the Y2D's was mine, they said no and the 2 morse's were going up to brisbane, but Morse himself was using them at a clinic in sydney beforehand. is your morse one of those?

Enzo,

It's really great of you to brave the waters and post on another company's forum!
I hope we don't scare you off.

I think most of us here on the EBMM forum are very pleased that GC carries MusicMan instruments, as they tend to be very difficult to find at most other music stores. I hope you will continue to increase your orders for MusicMan items (guitars especially, for my own selfish reasons).

I also understand that the separate case pricing is the main gripe that we hear around here, and that GC is taking steps to eliminate that bone of contention.

Thanks for hearing us, I'm sure we represent a truly insignificant minority as far as your bottom line goes, and yet here you are.. so thanks.

I just received a call from Michael (sounds like a very nice guy btw), who did apologize that anything went wrong. They're going to send me out some strings to make up the difference I paid and make it right. He was with a GC customer service rep, and it sounds like they really can do things for you when you call the 1-800 number and not just when you're speaking to a VP :)

I'm happy now, and am going to keep the guitar. I am sorry it had to come to this, and I really do hope that GC HQ can steer their stores right with respect to MM policies.

Very nice.

I think I've bought 4 ebmm's, a prs, and some amps, recording gear, and various misc. from Guitar center and I've always walked away thinking i got a very fair deal. Though the guy I bought most of the gear from no longer works there.

All the guitars had cases included, and they also threw in strings and straps. I think even some strap locks once or twice.

And I can remember back when there was only 1 guitar center.

I've also seen some of the best prices ever on a Luke and Albert during sales events there.

Because of the high turnover rate of sales people there and the quantity of merchandise they stock, it's pretty impossible for all the employees to have a thorough knowledge of everything they carry. Usually they might know 3 or 4 things about a particular guitar.

The guys working there the longest usually have things down better than the newer employees. Maybe try that route next time.

I would like to thank you all for welcoming me and Guitar Center so warmly to your forum. I must confess I was a little anxious about taking such a public stance, but I'm delighted to now be a registered member of the Ernie Ball family!

As you know, Graham has a package of Ernie Ball accessories on his way as a gesture of goodwill in recognition of his patience. In future, if any of you have issues which can't be resolved in our stores, please feel free to contact our Customer Service department at 800 905 0585 ext 2601. Alternatively, you can email [email protected].

If you would like to contact me directly about Guitar Center guitar policies in general, or Music Man guitars and basses specifically, please do so through the forum.

Guitar Center is proud to represent Music Man instruments and they are an extremely important element of our "high end" offering. We may not always be able to quite match the truly impressive product knowledge demonstrated by the musicians on this forum, but trust that we are working supremely hard to raise our game and meet the expectations not only of our customers, but also our valued suppliers - especially Ernie Ball.

A good example of this effort is our dedicated website at www.guitarcenter.com/events/musicman. It's devoted to basses right now, but we hope to add guitars as soon as we can get the video footage.

Thanks again to all of you for your valued input; to Graham for his custom and patience; and to Big Poppa for building such great guitars and inviting me into your world.

All the best,

Michael

Enzo,

It's great to have you here. We're a pretty reasonable bunch, but sometimes we need to hear 'the way things are' from people in the business. We get quite the education having Sterling and Dudley around, and Gary Hanser, and occasionally Luke and Vinnie Moore (and Dave LaRue lurking).

Lastly, I have to ask that you conform and post some pics of your MusicMan instruments! ;)

Fair enough. I have something in mind, but no photo as yet. Give me a week or so and I'll send the evidence!

Enzo,

Don't sweat it if you don't personally own a MusicMan yet...

We've been letting Fogman hang around here for a long time with no 'Balls'.
:D

Anyway, I look forward to seeing whatever you find time to post.

O.K. Michael,

Now you're going to go out of your way to personally answer any questions that the forumites have concerning EBMM products. I think you've gone above and beyond what we could have asked for......Very cool, and thank you.:D

P.S. What do ya mean you've got a dedicated page on the GC site for EBMM Basses. I hope the guitar page gets up there soon.......Damn those Bass players.:p :p
