My wife surprised me this morning with an incredible birthday present. She told me my birthday card was in the front room where I've moved all my equipment, well I walk in and see the card on a new guitar stool. I take the card and check it out in my new stool thinking this is pretty cool. Then she asks me when I moved the hangers for my guitar. I had recently moved them up to make space on the wall.

Well I look up and there is a trans-red flame top EVH hanging next to my Petrucci and BD Silo.

You could have knocked me over with a feather. I had walked into the room and didn't even see it hanging there. Holy SH*T!!! :D

I'm still in shock at this point. I figure I was making out good with the new stool, this completely blew me away. I had three hangers mounted on the wall, the spare waiting for the Y2D Morse. I couldn't believe my eyes. Anyhow, I'll get pictures of it up ASAP.

Sorry all you guys out there, I have the best wife around...

p.s as there are no photo's yet.....i'm sure you haven't played it yet........

Thanks to all for the good wishes and congratulations. I'm still in shock, I actually walked in there this morning to make sure it wasn't a dream...

Sorry Tommy, I did have to play it a little bit yesterday. :D I will get pics up real soon.

To top it off she even took me out to dinner last night at Hooter's... What can I say she loves the wings. :D Besides, hers are bigger than any we've seen at the 2 here in Baltimore.

Anyhow, I'm still on cloud nine today and loving life.

And Steve, you're right, I've been doing those things all along, no problem there, it works both ways.

later!!

Nice present. How did she Know?

We were out at Hooter's (imagine that) a couple of weeks ago. They have a Guitar Center up the street so we stopped in after dinner and they had it there. I had noticed it a few months before and didn't expect it to be there still. I noodled around with it for a few minutes and she must have noticed the look in my eyes and the drool on my chin. I really didn't say too much, she always told me she pays attention... maybe she does.

And the kicker was her trying to tell me how she explained it to the guys at the local GC. She didn't know her way back (geographically challenged) to the GC where the guitar was so she went to the one closer to us and had it shipped in.

She knows squat about guitars, but I love her anyway. I would have loved to have been there for the conversation, when she asked about the Van Halen, they kept thinking she meant the Yellow/Black Charvel and she's insisting that no, it's red, it's a Van Halen, with flames and "stuff" (birdseye) on the neck. I'm glad they finally figured it out.

You forgot about Fred Smileing as he is more than happy to perform these tasks as well as others that are outside the scope of this forum.
Hats and other things too off to your lovely wife.

Go and get the original toggle switch, since this looks weird.

lotsa birdseye!

Hey fred, it was good revisiting those SM clinic photos again. My favorite shot was #9 where you see his right hand in the chickin pickin mode with pick tucked under his index finger.

Great captions, too. Giggling all the way through them.

Mick,
yeah, I'm going to replace it with an original eventually. I've been having too much fun with it right now though...

I couldn't believe the amount of birdseye and I thought the flame was pretty nice on it. I stopped by and thanked the manager at the local GC for being so patient with my wife while she tried desperately to describe the guitar having only seen it once and not knowing anything about them. :D

fred

p.s. - Keith, I often wonder whether NorM has really looked at the captions in the Morse pictures... ;) :D

Not sure he has either. That one was funny! Maybe PM him so he sees it
