Wow... a very talented player! And I love those old Seymour Duncan Convertible amplifiers.. they were way ahead of their time with those. They had a modifiable signal chain where you could plug different 'modules' into the preamp section for different sounds.

(Randall is doing something similar right now with their amp heads.)

cool video...speaking of Hellecasters, the John Jorgenson quintet just played here a couple days ago. I attended the workshop that Mr. Jorgenson gave before the show, it was really cool. I felt self conscious because I was the only one there with a solid-body electric; most of the other guys were fingerpickers.

The show was amazing; he's playing "gypsy jazz", as pioneered by Django Rheinhardt. Definitely worth seeing if you get a chance.

I had the pleaseure of opening up for the Desert Rose band and watching John J. was a humbling experience----all those guys were extremely nice and loved to talk gear too!!! As for the rest of the Hellecasters-----wow---simply stunning--I've got all their stuff---and that Will Ray G+L is just "too cool not to have"!!!

I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting John Jorgenson here in N Wales in the mid 90's - he did a jazz gig for the NW Jazz Soc in Menai Bridge - I went and talked to him in the break - no one else did so it was really cool - he told me how he was doing a Hellecasters gig that I got to go to in New Brighton, and - I've still got the autographs of the band on an old denim jacket!! He told me that he was off to play guitar for some piano player called Elton................!:D ;)

think its called "country tech", i'll look it up. might be deleted already. there's a seperate book/cd package too which is great, you need these exercises written down believe me!!!! but cool to see him do it.

i have one of Jorgenson's cd's of gypsy jazz, just amazing, love the style, my fav jazz sound.

I met him a couple of times at guitar shows and exhibitions in the late 80's early 90's and whilst I can appreciate sublime playing I dont think I've ever met a more miserable famous person. He wouldnt engage with anyone, as the "top star" on the Fender stand he didnt speak...

Apparently the reason there is no new Hellecasters material is that he has moved to Germany (as my best mate said a country reknowned for chuckles) and refuses to go elsewhere to record....

Though anyone in the UK who remembers his playing on the Hush Puppies advert will bow down in appreciation...

yep i met him in melbourne, had a chat to Will Ray at the same time. Jerry acted like he was in the worst place of all time, couldnt have cared less. Will was FABULOUS! signed everything that was put in front of him, talked about utter nonsense to anyone that wanted to, it was great!!! He even knew what cricket was!! ( for UK and Aussie people )
