Just to preface, not complaining about any one at Ernie Ball. Some how my order for a Gold Swirl PG (from my local guitar shop) for my 08 LE Stingray5 showed up as a Gold Swirl SUB 5 PG. Looks really nice up next to my bass but odviously, no Sub bass for me. I held on to it to see if anyone with a SUB is interested. Really dig how it looks and will be ordering another real soon. It's not a sub 5 scratchplate, it'll be a sterling 5 scratchplate, and it's hardly necessary to post that hee, get in touch with EB customer service and return it and get the one you ordered, everyone's happy.

How can you be certain it's not a SUB5 pickguard? If it's symmetrical, it's a SUB5 pickguard. If it's asymmetrical, it's a Sterling 5 pickguard.

It is a round symetrical PG with notches on the double screw side of the pickup. Pretty sure that is a SUB PG. Will be taking it back this week unless anyone out there has a SUB 5 and is interested. JOSH

I have a SUB 5 and am interested if it really is a SUB 5 pickguard. My guess is not if it's EB factory, as they only came in black and diamond plate.

What did the gold swirl look like again? Can you take a pic of the pickguard?

Well, they have the templates, so just because it came with black and diamond plate as stock doesn't really mean much. There's a picture of the gold swirl in the sticky thread with the new 2008 colors.

Sorry my mistake, i just wouldn't have thought they'd have any left by now. But as BP said, contact your dealer.

Guys... i already have another on order, I really was just curious to know if anyone had an interest in this one before i return it. Once again i was not trying to bash anyone at Ernie Ball. Here is a picture to shed some light...

The reason i thought it was a Sub PG is on the left side of the pickup cutout it has two notches like on a SUB bass. Correct me if i am wrong. JOSH

Someone should snap up that SR4 gold swirl pickguard. There are certainly a lot more of those out there than SUB5s!

Aye most stingrays have those notches, i think just a handful of the newer ones dont... though i'm not too sure? anyway, BP is right, that's a ray pickguard ;) but it would fit a SUB (and also what made you think it was a SUB 5 as opposed to a SUB 4?)

Oh oh oh, I want that pickguard!

It's mine, I've baggsied it!

That on a sparkle bass would be like 'hey, woah, that looks mental'

That looks cool!
Unfortunatley I don't have a suitable bass to put it on... maybe I should order one ;)
