Butch, if you're looking for neck & middle quack I'm not sure the original Morse is going to help you. You might want to look at a Silhouette. Seriously, you can get sort of the way there but if that's your sound the Morses aren't the best guitar for it.
That said, you can get closer with the original Morse. Go to a store and try one. Unless you get one that's new the neck profile is going to be different- the older ones have a chunkier profile (it's also excellent, just not as thin as the new profile).
If you decide to swap, Tommy is your guy. You know you'll be getting a guitar in great shape that's set up like a dream.
