Just received my Y2D a couple days ago and for once in my life I am speechless... lol I have been a fan of Steve Morse for awhile and love the new Deep Purple album not to mention all the Dixie Dregs and solo stuff. I bought the guitar from http://www.drumcityguitarland.com which I saw somewhere on this forum. They were great and I got a great deal on it. When I finally got my hands on this masterpiece I just couldnt stop looking at it! Unbelievable workmanship! It just feels like it has already been broken in and ready to rock. I also own a wolfgang made in 1997 which is a wonderful guitar, but the Y2D is without a doubt alot more versatile sound wise which is what I was looking for. I really recommend this guitar people...just awesome! Thanks to the dedicated and hard working folks at the Music Man plant and Steve Morse for this guitar as it is truly a work of art....

I think the Y2D may be the best looking guitar I've ever seen.

Always wondered about the strange model name though. Most of the energy went into designing and building it apparently.

Thx for all the great comments folks! :) Having spent ALOT more time playing it I can say it's getting better and better everyday. I'm really digging all the different sounds you can get from the 5 selector pickup switch. I can nail a blues, country, jazz, and heavy sound with this badboy. Hard to put it down I tell you. lol If I could post more than one picture I would show the beautiful Birdseye maple neck. Im loving it! Wouldn't mind checking out an Axis or JP next...

Fbecir: I never got the chance to play an original Steve Morse, but if the Y2D is any clue I bet they rock also!!!

Coldgin,

Welcome to the club! :)

Man, whoever is painting these purple sunset guitars in SLO is doing a fantastic job! And the tops are just amazing.. I haven't seen a single Y2D with a less-than-amazing top!
