Again I repeat, dang they did a swell job matching the pick guard to that beautiful top ;)

Well...

I've always wondered about the pickguards on EBMMs that have that look-are they actually matched to the top using a clear pickguard with a photo underlay or are they clear with a back rout? I've seen this amazing pink Silhouette with black and white paint splatters all over the body, and the pickguard was (again) perfectly matched to the appearance of the body. How do they do that?

Thanks for the pic. I'm curious, what is next to it on the right?

I'm pretty sure that's one of the other colour options on the new Morse.

It doesn't look like the new Morse; it has fuller binding and doesn't really have an upper cutaway.

I think it's an Axis SuperSport in either vintage burst or tobacco burst with a really nice quilty top.

I was at NAMM and didn't have the sense to take any pix of that booth! I got rushed out of that booth and figured I'd be coming back the next day, and it didn't work out. I played that Purple SM and it's very nice. I wasn't into that color at all though. Sterling was there too playing in the little "Shop". He was with his Grandson maybe? They were just chillin'. Sterling is a REALLY good player by the way!!

To be honest, I wasn't real impressed w/ the booth. Seems like they didn't anywhere near the selection as the LA NAMM show, which is to be expected. Oh wait, I did take a pic of the Mahogany Axis! I played it too. The neck on it is REAL nice and the finish is awesome. That particular "color" was not for me though, but I loved the neck. The color was much "darker" than I thought it would be, based on pix from the forum. Also, I didn't realize that the neck and fretboard was all one piece. This one was that way. There was no "fretboard" glued onto the neck. It was all one piece. I thought based on pix I'd see that the fretboard and neck were two seperate pieces. Anyway, The down side was that you could play all this stuff, but thru the worst sounding amp simulator I've ever heard in my life.. the Korg Pandora's Box. OMG it was beyond RANK. Every sound was nearly UNUSABLE!!! I hated it.

The only "surprise" for me was that I didn't know that the new the MM Sterling Basses or whatever had a TWO humbucking PU option. Is that new?? I think it's a great idea.

However.. the biggest surprise for me at NAMM was the OLP booth. I was really impressed w/ those guitars actually. I mean, they are what they are... good, cheap, back-up type guitars. But I was GIDDY for the neck on the OLP Luke they had!!! So much that I'm going to buy one as soon as they become avail. I had never played one only because I've always felt the Luke is the cheesiest looking model they have ( I still don't care for the rounded body style or the color choices), but that NECK... OH BABY THAT NECK!!! It's a V shaped neck that is a dream to play! You just don't find that kind of neck anymore. For the neck alone, I'm going to buy one.

touche. Yeah, I just had NO CLUE that the LUKE necks were the V profile. Amazing. Maybe I need to start saving for one of those instead?? HA!
