Thanks for the pic. I'm curious, what is next to it on the right?

the y2d pic is cropped ... here's the original, so you can see the Axis better there:

touche. Yeah, I just had NO CLUE that the LUKE necks were the V profile. Amazing. Maybe I need to start saving for one of those instead?? HA!

The neck on the EBMM Luke is unbelievable. Totally different than anything else I've ever played. If you like the OLP version (which I haven't played), I'm guessing you'll love the original.

Nice axis btw!

Thanks! I'm going to track down a Luke to check out. The OLP neck was nice. I'm suspicious that the PU's (which are active) could suck. But it would be a nice backup geetar though.

The Axis you played is rosewood, and it is not a one piece neck. there is a fretboard on it. Trust me.

Dang it. I keep saying Mahogny. I thought for sure that it was two piece. But both me and my buddy looked at it VERY closely. He said, "I thought you said this was two piece" and I said, "It is", and he said, "No it's not, look". And unless we are BOTH blind, this one was one. OR, the color of the top vs. the neck was so exact you couldn't tell. But I swear to you that you couldn't even see a LINE where the fretboard met the neck. It made me wonder if it was a special piece for NAMM or something.

However, I won't swear to anything. We were "guitar blind" by that point. HA!

Another cool thing was the Dean display. They had Dime's "Dean from Hell" on display for all to see and touch. They had tribute after tribute to that guy. I have pix I'll post soon.

BTW- That Dean From Hell's neck was the V profile like the Luke. It was a cream dream.

JonG is right, as usual :) I thought the same about the rosewood Axis guitars when I first looked at the necks. It took a very close look to discern the line on the first guitar. The other one is ever so slightly more noticeable.

When is your due date. I remember I sent you a pic once of what you ordered in a hardtail but I want to see yours. I wish I could play it next time I'm in the ****ty Planet area.

Wow I kinda read you post and was ready to fire on you for the obvious..,but you said I was a great player and you might have taken too many sudafeds so here is the explanation to you observations.

1.Indy is one third the exhibiting size as Anaheim (not LA)

2.Our booth was three times the size of Nashville, one third Ananheim.

3. We displayed as many guitars and basses as Anaheim. This was at the expense of displaying all of the eb products like strings and things.

4.Thanks for the compliment that you guys were bamboozeled but the neck. That is what happens when you use the same piece of wqood cleanly and precisely ban saw it, insert the truss rod and expertly glue the brother fretboard on....

Thanks for the report .....and thanks for the support....

I saw the Y2D in the latest MF catalog so I checked it out on line.

I just got the latest MF catalog last night and noticed that the Y2D had a listing for the "Steve Morris" model - but the other text did correctly identify the guitar as Mr. Morse's model.

Steve Morris is a guitar player Ian Gillan worked a lot with. He did write and record a lot of songs with Gillan on Gillan's solo albums. You can hear Ian talk about Steve Morris on some live discs when he means Steve Morse and the other way around.

Nevertheless, although less well known, Steve Morris also rocks.

Cheers, Tom.

That blue morse w/Floyd and cream pickups/binding is my personal favorite. It's calling out to me and my wallet

Are you serious ?!?!  :(

That combination is gorgeous.

What are the other options, colorwise? Those purples are nice but not for everyone.

Pug, purple burst ahs alot of blue in it. That one may be more your style. It's purple in the middle for a small amount then fades to dark blue. that one was sweet too.
