ya for sure. it IS my holy grail of necks. the 'v' profile and the overall radius is just heavenly. i have an Axis SS MM90 on the way (used) and i am thinking of getting the neck reprofiled to emulate the luke neck.

you see , like i said , in this guitar the strongest side is the neck...........

you dont want to buy a luke because of its great neck , you want get your axis model reprofiled to the luke neck ........

mmmmm interesting , but not surprising me at all .

exactly. if only, you could buy a neck seperatly.

which mean beside the neck spec' which feels great the guitar itself doesnt intersting you at all comparing to other MM models , if i understand you correctly , can you share with me please why ???

i don't like the pickups. played through my amp alone they we considerably darker than what i like, muddier too. I'm not keen on the position of the volume knob/p'up selector location. The body is ok but i'd prefer it to be a tad shorter as i think it looks slightly elongated. It is comfortable enough to play and the guitar is well balanced overall but it just isn't my cup of tea. I prefer the axis shape. always have done. Think its because i prefer a modified t3l3 shape rather than a modified str@ shape.

so if you were building your "dream" guitar the only thing which you'll take from the luke is the neck spec' ??? or youll be really happy if that specification will appear on other MM models for example axis , as an option ???

I'll bet if Lucious chimed in here, this thread could go on for another 8 pages.

Now that I think of it, I'm sure I have a Luke around here somewhere. :D

well maybe the luke colour as well! luke neck, axis body, JP trem with piezo, dimarzio bumhuckers, 3 way selector with push/push coil tap on the tone pot.

how ya gonna make an existing neck pocket smaller ??????

if the body was in a solid colour, it would be easy to infill and refinish.

i'm not actually gonna do it because i know that i couldn't get hold of a luke neck on its own and i ain't flush enough to buy a luke just for the neck. I was merely stating what my dream axe would consist off.

i can only dream!!!! we can all dream. with a bit of good luthier work, i'm sure it could be done but you'd have to have the body in a solid colour so you wouldn't notice the pocket infill.

i trust we have all seen the axis luke himself has with the luke neck on it?
