Here is a closer look at what we think the final guitar will look like. We are waiting on pickups after that we should be good to go. What do you guys think.......?? If all goes well we should be shipping in about 90 days.....

...But the Quilt tops on the protos he used on tour earlier this year seemed even nicer.

BTW by the looks of that shirt, me thinks that's Steve holding the guitar.

Also, are the pole pieces adjustable on the single coil? Because they don't seem to blend quite as well as the hums do.

I remember telling Steve back in Jan at his INDIAN GAMBLING CASINO show that I preferred the look of the black pups to the zebra ones being considered. He was really doing some serious market research of the hardcore fans.

It is Steve holding the guitar, as far as I can see, it's the same picture as on the new SM-Y2D site introduced in the other post.

Man, that's stunning. The purple PU are so sweet, as is the rest. Hm, 90 days, so that's around September 14th, close to my birthday. I'll just will have to be patient I guess.

Question: since the two toggles are gone, I presume the switch to be a five way switch. Can anybody confirm this and/or give the switching scheme (so I can start practicing the different combinations...)?

Well, it's gone be a killer guitar, that's for sure.

The burst looks more refined compared to previous pics I've seen.

I swear I saw cream coloured pickups before which matched the binding.

I can't tell from the pic, but are you gonna go with the rounding of the body at the binding that was shown on the videos? I think that the rounding was the pefect finishing touch to the axe. I like rounded edges and if it is going to be stock, I'm gonna order me one!!

What are the Pickup selections available on the 5 way?

Now of course you'll have to get one of each colour to keep up the trend!

Yes

The body will feature the radiused binding where it is "rounded" around the edges.

The pickups are purple with a gold script signature. The Tobacco burst is still in question but it may feature all black pickups.

That is Steve holding the guitar but not really. We created a rendition based on a color sample we had for the pickups.

You guys are sharp, the switch is different. More on that later.....

I like the cream and purple ideas, not much a fan of the straight black pickups on that guitar... maybe because of the awesome clear pickguard? But hey, whatever comes out of the factory is cool by me
