I'm new here so this may seem like a dumb question, but is that a new Steve Morse model? How does the neck compare to an Axis, and does it have a tremolo option? Thanks.

welcome....
it's a new model being offered in addition to the standard model. they both have the same neck profile.

the smy2d has it's own options...while the standard still has it's original options .
the neck is the same width (1-5/8") at the nut as an axis ..but at the 22nd fret the morse is 1/16 '' wider.

Tommy - then would the Morse neck be closer to that on the Silhouette Special?

What about the profile (depth and shape) - closer to the Axis or closer to the Silo Special?

Tommy - thanks; the info from an "insider" is appreciated!

Decisions, decisions - a Y2D or a Rosewood Axis SuperSport :)

Is that a plastic pickquard? Is the flame painted on? I'm asking because the flame matches perfectly with the top.

Yes it is a clear plastic pickguard and no the top is not painted. Just high quality craftmanship from EBMM.

This quote is from the EB site:

Current list price including case will be $2,095 (standard bridge) and $2,245 with tremelo. The original Steve Morse model will still be available at the current retail of $1,765 (standard) and $1,915 (tremelo) .

Cheers
Colin

Colin,

Are these prices good for all of the colors, or are some of them an up charge? Also, when will we be able to see a list of colors, specs, and options?. I'm looking to buy another guitar to compliment my Axis but I'm not going to do anything until I see more about this guitar. I want to stick with 22 frets so this might be a good choice.

Thanks

I'd wait personally because this is going to be the guitar of the decade.
Although your order might hold up my order..... :)
No I couldn't do that, Y2Ds for everybody!

Here is a closer look at what we think the final guitar will look like. We are waiting on pickups after that we should be good to go. What do you guys think.......?? If all goes well we should be shipping in about 90 days.....

Derek

Are there any plans to have Steve hand sign the first 50 like he did with his original model? I'm not sure if those would even be made available to the regular schmoe's who placed early orders for the guitar, but it would be nice to know it might be a possibility.

I know Tommy has #23 of the original model, although he has an insider's edge.
