Tommy's gonna have some splainin' to do to Mrs. Tommy thanks to you guys.
:D

Having met Tommy's wife, me thinks he should have no reason to do that... Yow. ;)

And thanks Pete... Now you'll have Tommy ticked at me.

Like I said, I'm not sure how those hand signed models get distributed. I think I remember John Petrucci hand signing something like the first 100 or so. Pete is your BD hand signed?

I'm thinking if NorM gets a hold of one of those, he'd be delirious.

Fred, yes it is. JP signed the first 50 or so. I located a brand new "still-unopened-in-box" Mystic Dream 6 string that is hand-signed and for sale @ a dealer. Price is up there....

And I'm sure Tommy will understand!

Isn't NorM already delirious?

Hi guys,

We have not gotten that far yet. Remember we are still trying to get to the finished prototype that Steve will give the OK.

So that poses another question. Should we copy what we did 20 years ago or should we do something else to make the first production run special?

Opinions please.........

If he signed them and you had a Limited Edition run on signed guitars with a special case (like the LE buttercream ones).

Possibly sign the back plate and have an additional one given so the signed one can be removed to display or whatever. This would still make the axe playable without worrying about scratching off the signature.

OR, maybe have a signed 8 X 10 giving the sequencial number like # 3 of 100.

Or better yet, have Steve deliver me one personally, hang out with me and show me how to play guitar! Now of course, this would only benefit me, but, that's how it goes sometimes....hehehehe.... ;)

My 2 pennies.

Maybe a signature under the clear pick guard, possibly between the bridge and 1st pup or in line with the 5 way switch. That way it can be visible but unobtrusive and protected against wear.

edit: maybe even on an angle between the pickups in homage to the now missing slanted single coil :)

Also - if he could bring a pizza - I usually get home from work around 7

I like mbgreene's idea about sig. placement. I can only think of exceedingly selfish ideas, like making the first production run exclusively available to forum members...

whatever you finally decide on, i'm sure it will be awesome.

Ditto. I also like the idea of a signature under the pickguard. My order's long since placed ... so I'd love the oppt'y to get something like this.

MBGreene's idea sounds like a great one and with it being under the pickguard it won't get worn off or trashed.

Nice job man!!! :D

Though have Steve sign them in a nice thick black Sharpie, permanent marker!!! :)

Derek,
You are the man!

Having the artist sign their model guitar is the only signature I would ever want on any guitar. Steve did autograph my existing EBMMSM model and it really means worlds to me. When I asked Steve where he wanted to sign it his response was, "It's your guitar, where do you want it". I have seen him reply the same thing to other people as well.

For the record:
Yes, I am delirious.
Even though this guitar is a HUGE contributing factor toward that, it can also be made as a general statement and still remain accurate.

My Dream:
# xx of xx
For NorM <written in my logo style if possible>
Steve Morse
<little drawing of an EBMM guitar he does with his signature>
on the back side of the headstock before the final clear coat.

I like the y2d signature logo on the front side and I'm getting a matching headstock. Space and color become issues on the front. I love the natural beauty of the quilted maple so I don't necessarily want it "tagged". I love the idea of subtle and discreet (Really? ) so Joe Audience won't know just how cool this guitar really is. Wouldn't that be cool in 100 years on "Antique Roadshow" when my great grandchild turns the guitar over to show the numbered, hand signed, personalized signature under the clear coat.

how about if steve slices his forearm open and bleeds on the first fifty (of course made only available to forum members. )

In leiu of this he could possibly grind up number one and divide into equal vials for your forumites onlyalso.

Hey wait how about if he collects subway wrappers and signs them just for forumites?
(steve loves subway)

how about if he removes random bolts from his airplane (hopefully non essential ones) and Dudley would glue them to the first 50 for the forumites only.

what do you think?

BP, you are the man!!! LMAO!!!

Derek, asked for idea's and I know we are always way over the top. Hey let's ask Steve, it's his signature guitar, let the man decide. I'm pretty sure that everyone here will love it no matter what.
