how about if steve slices his forearm open and bleeds on the first fifty (of course made only available to forum members. )

In leiu of this he could possibly grind up number one and divide into equal vials for your forumites onlyalso.

Hey wait how about if he collects subway wrappers and signs them just for forumites?
(steve loves subway)

how about if he removes random bolts from his airplane (hopefully non essential ones) and Dudley would glue them to the first 50 for the forumites only.

what do you think?

How about Steve cuts off his fingers and thumbs and Dudley nails each one to the first 10 Y2Ds off the production line (cos you don't have a custom shop).

Then save the remaining blood spillage up for a Y25D DNA model in the year 2500.

Well, it seems the British sense of humour fails to break into the USA once more.

I'm off to burn my dirty capitalist American guitars right now.

In all seriousness, besides some type of signature with the number how about a custom G&G case? Assuming the first 50 are going to be in either the "Deep Purple" or "Purple Sunset", how about a dark purple tolex G&G case. If any of the first 50 are going to be tobacco burst, just use the brown case currently used on the buttercream limiteds.

I think EBMM used the letter d to denote the SI prefix unit 10. Actually (according to N.I.S.T (see the table below)) it should be "da" (deka = 10^1). So either :
a)EB didn't think it through
b)They thought "y2d" looked cooler than "y2da" (pronounced why today?)
the guitar ended up being the y2d model.
c) I am an arrogant, spoiled, whining, nitpicking brat who can’t keep his trap shut long enough to appreciate the hard work that’s going into this piece of art.

The prefix "d" (deci) actually is for 10^-1 or 0.1 (again see the chart below)
The y2d then would actually be 0.2 years or 73 days after the completion of the first guitar.

The year 2500 (or 2486) will be the 500th anniversary. That would be the y5h model

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Table 5. SI prefixes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Factor Name Symbol
10^24 yotta Y
10^21 zetta Z
10^18 exa E
10^15 peta P
10^12 tera T
10^9 giga G
10^6 mega M
10^3 kilo k
10^2 hecto h
10^1 deka da
Factor Name Symbol
10^-1 deci d
10^-2 centi c
10^-3 milli m
10^-6 micro µ
10^-9 nano n
10^-12 pico p
10^-15 femto f
10^-18 atto a
10^-21 zepto z
10^-24 yocto y

Yeah I agree with Dargin. I thought it was funny too! But I do feel like anything that I have to offer will be dismissed simply because I said it. But it was funny.

I did laugh - just double checking - I was at work and .....awe never mind...

How about instead of EB polish cloths - the first 100 purchasers get the sleeves that Steve cuts off all of his T-shirts

Plus that whole autograph under the pickguard thing :D

hey mate....as a life long member of Derek and Clive I get it.

My reference re blood is that between the two of us we got it covered.

Listen it was posted just in time as norm had to resort to complicated tables that if you put a gun to his head he couldn't explain.

Norm is going to get the Ernie Ball forum first annual persecution complex award.

Perhaps I should take a picture to capture the moment. OOOOH! Digital video. Just something I can show my family so they can finally be proud of me. Maybe then they will let me in the house. I've heard good things about living indoors.

oh well. for me now:
Less internet-ing
More dreaming about my new guitar and practicing for the two gigs I have this weekend where I display my skills and give all the credit for the beautiful music I make to Ernie Ball Music Man Guitars.
Oh yes I'll be busting chops on the Blue Dawn. <--It's my favorite

I like the signature under the clear pickguard idea, or the 'personalized' autograph on the back of the headstock before clearcoating. Of course, we're talking very limited quantity here so that Steve doesn't get writer's cramp.

But an idea I like even better is this:

let Steve personally name each of the first 50 (or whatever quantity) guitars, and put that name on the guitar somewhere. (Preferably one prominent place, and one hidden place). This way each of them can be identified throughout their lives.

He could name them simply, like "NorM" or "Baim-Baim", or get fancy and name them after his tunes. I would love to have a guitar named "Twiggs Approved".

Edit: Plus, Steve could think up the names anywhere without taking too much of his time, and just call, fax, or email them back to EBMM.

Hehe, I'd quote some Derek and Clive here, but the swearing would probably get me banned!

Peter Cook's horseracing commentary never fails to reduce me to a giggling wreck every time I hear it.

Funny!
:D

Although "THE GREAT BAIM SPECTACULAR" has a nicer ring to it. Or "BAIMWIND". Now that's a title I can live up to.

I'm gonna suggest something in a bit of a different direction. For those attending the OPEN HOUSE, and who already have one on order, have their pic taken with Steve with him handing them the guitar, (If Steve doesn't mind...and assuming there's security there to keep Norm moving. :p )

I've seen Steve enough times where he refuses to leave until he's signed, posed for pictures and chatted up all his fans that stick around. He stays around the club long enough to play another friggin gig.

Hey Master,

Thanks for the room and board, but I think I'm gonna just fingerpick.

You have anything else to wear other than these ridiculous smocks?

And the rice thing can get pretty old. Would serving mashed potatoes kill you once in a while?

Do you think all of this is *free*?? Now pick up that EBSMMM guitar and practice-practice-practice!
At least you know who the master is. ;-)

No numbers just names? Loving the idea!
(crud, I mentioned it so that's out) <--just kidding
I also like kieth's idea of BaimApproved. I'm gonna go look through the discography at Steve Morse.com and see if I can find something cool like that. (OOh a creative assignment!)

For just song titles I would like the "Vista Grande" model.
In the "grand view" of things I'm thrilled I am even getting this cool of a guitar.
Happy I say! Happy!

I saw other pictures that the color dont like stripes more like water

its much more beautifull and the cream pick up also

i think you should put the volume and tone knobs in cream or gold it will go perfect with the cream pick up

also in the introducing clip the guitar had another switch button close to the neck pick up what was that ? and why it doesnt appear on the main picture here???
