Congratulations! Beautiful pair, I love BOTH colors. I recently bought a second Bongo. I love having two of them especially since one is a 5 HH and the other is a 5 single H. And just like yours the colors are vastly different.

Well, I'm still keeping my Stingray HH. That baby can do it all as well, and has a different sound. I still play it for couple of songs every other day. I usually get in about 45-60 minutes of practice time a night. Usually to keep up with the newer songs my band has added.

I'm glad that many of You guys can afford yourself multi bass ownership but I just don't get it why two identical models (except the color)?

For example, it's good to have a few Bongos, but with different pickup configuration, right?

No hard feelings...I guess it's a hobby of mine. I don't really spend money on anything else, and haven't gone on a true vacation in more than 3 years. I guess when you look at it, 2 basses are really all a person probably needs. Maybe a 4 & 5, or two 4 string models with different sounds, or tunings. I'll probably only have 3 basses for a while...I once had 7 basses, but 3 of them were very cheap. Another time I had 4 basses, but I was gigging a couple of times a month back then as well.
I guess it all depends on how much money you have to spare. I just started a 401k through work, and eventually need to start dumping my extra cash there rather than buying additional basses.

I had a tort guard from another bass and set it on there...it looked okay, but I wasn't really a fan.

Yes, it does! I love my Sterling 5 single H!
I have seven different fretted electric 5-string basses and since I play full-time I'm really good about "rotating" them. I also have an acoustic/electric 5-string bass which makes eight basses total. We no longer do our "unplugged" gig so the acoustic/electric just gets used at home for learning songs or practicing.
