Love that color... I like both pickguards, my favorite would probably be whichever one I had on two days in a row and got used to :)

Good to hear that its color is an intense orange. On some photos (in other threads) the color looked too washed out like apricot/peach.

Very nice bass.

Just got home from practice.

Mucho punchy. Me likey.

Look forward to a gig review of the Al, AD.

PS do you think the weight thing could possibly be down to getting used to the different shape - the Bongo is sooo easy to wear compared with any other bass I own (and mine is quite a heavy one) - or maybe it's the mind ray fighting back!

Oh Yeah, ...congrats Man! :)

Definitely orange swirl, ...it fits to image of Your band and I like it better anyway! ;)

Really like the color, ...just trying to imagine my potential future Bongo 5 Hp in this combo?

Play it in a good will!

Man AD that bass is bad ass...

I'm kinda in the process or slimming down the bass content. I love both my SR's. I played my friends Bongo for a while and found out it is just not for me.. Really I have all I need. 92 trans white Sting Ray, a 30th fretless, a 78 P bass and an active hybrid jazz bass. A couple of years ago I promised myself that I would never buy another electric bass....Then the Big Al came along. Music man quality in an SSS format.. Ok I'm sold.

Doomed I am...I love orange basses. and your bass is perfect. Gotta keep that orange swirl pickguard as it looks too cool..So how does it compare to your Bongos? I know your a Bongo man. I thought the Bongo had a good tone but it was kind of sterile compared to my Sting Rays. How does that massive preamp compare with the SSS config vs the H in the Bongo?
