Man, I went 47.57 miles after work today to a dealer I found on the Music Man Online Dealer Locator that had no Balls. 7 Balls listed on the online inventory. I thought, "Okay, fine. They may have a Silo, and they may have a Benji, which are both listed on the inventory." I went into the store and found zero, zilch, nada, nothing. I've never had a dealer inventory be so wrong. Unbelievable.

I didn't want to be an a$$#@!3. So, I didn't press the guy at the store. I just took a look at what he had. I played nice, and I left. My buddy bought some EB guitar polish to kind of make the trip worth a little something. I still can't believe it.

Now, I know that it would have been wiser to call the store first, but man, I never expected a dealer on the dealer locator to have no Balls at all. Sure, I expect the dealer not to have exactly what's on the online inventory, but man...this is an extreme example. I don't want to name names, but man, that was disappointing.

Stopped by a GC on the way home. Played a nice Sterling. Found another source for a Rosewood ASS if I choose to give in to the GAS. It's just that I know that NAMM is coming, and who knows what we have in store for us next year?

Dude always call before visiting. You'll find that a lot of the dealer on the online dealer listing don't update their inventory listing, with exception of Pete, thanx in advance Pete.

I always call, because there aren't that many close to be, if I didn't call I'd end up being very disappointed like yourself. There is a dealer in NY, they have a ton of guitars in their inventory. I see one that I am very interested in, I call, nope that one's sold. Heck they don't have half the stuff it says online. The dealers control that information that you see.

Good luck finding what your looking for. Glenn |B)

Well, I wasn't really looking for anything specific. I just wanted to check out some other examples of the guitars and basses we know and love, but man, I didn't expect to find that they had absolutely nothing at all! I expected to find at least something. I found nothing. Not even one Ball. I found it incredibly odd.

roburado you're nuts for remaining silent!

I would not have left without telling them that you drove all that distance to check out some of their MusicMan inventory, which they were supposed to actually have, per the EBMM dealer locator.

You could have said that without being an asshat. Just say, "I'm really bummed 'cause..." etc.

At the very least, you'd let them know that potential buyers actually look at the inventory tool. Maybe that would convince them to update it, maybe not, but at least they'd know we're looking!

Hmm...yeah. I guess you're right that I could have just asked if they had Music Man stuff. I didn't want the guy to feel that I was insulting/turning my nose up at solid-body inventory he had on display. I guess I wasn't thinking straight at that point. I was just dumbfounded.
