I don't really see what the big deal is to be honest? I have talked with Brent and inquired about this guitar when he had posted it in another thread on the GP. He explained to me right off the bat the history of the guitar and how he reassembled it, so I can say he is an honest man with nothing to hide. If someone wants to plunk down 2K for it that is their business and no one can tell someone what they should sell their gear for.
I know what some guys are thinking though and I can understand, that the next seller may not be so honest! All I can say to that is if someone is going to plunk down 5K or better for a guitar they should do their homework and know what they are doing. If someone has more money than brains and would layout that kind of scratch without running the serial number on the neck which would comeback as a Sterling, then the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted" would be aptly applied.
Agreed. However its kinda easy to see that the H/S paint and decals are not original. The neck , and the job on the headstock make it a very difficult sale ....... especially at a price that you can get a nice clean 100% genuine EVH.
But thats just me ! Let the free market decide !
But the company can do something about it- that's whey they purse other companies that infringe on their trademarks.Beej I totally agree with you on guys making EBMM decals to go on a neck that is not an EB.But I do not agree that if someone gets burned it makes the brand look bad as the company has not done anything dishonest, nor do they have any control with what someone does with a guitar after it is sold= Buyer Beware!
