Wow, I had no idea there was that much info available on fretless guitar and various players. I figured since I hadn't heard of it, it must not exist ;)

The Vigier fretless guitars are wonderful instruments. Super high quality along the lines of EB, Suhr and Anderson. I absolutely suck at fretless, but here's a pic of when I played rhythm for Ron Thal and we both played fretless for a couple of tunes. I did simple, simple things so as not to sound like a sick cat. Ron is the absolute master of fretless, I think because of his perfect pitch. What's really amazing is to request a really difficult song which was written on a fretted guitar and watch him play it on fretless. There is virtually no limit to what he can play it seems.

Almost, but that dark pic is deceiving. :) It's a J-Custom RG-ART1. Very much like the JPM90 in that it has multiple trans-stains on the maple top.

Yeow! That sounds like a lot of work, Tommy!

Is it worth doing at that point? I'm just curious.. I've never had any guitar repair done other than a setup.

Well, I know that it's worth it to me :) It's my first "real" electric guitar (I had an Aria Pro for a few months before I realized I needed to upgrade) and has been gigged to hell & back, between outdoor concerts, bars, new years parties, house parties, and even a few appearances in the county jail (volunteer work). Plus it played pretty sweet even with paper thin flat frets.

Ah, nice, nice. Nothing quite like your first love ;)

Did you send the strap to Tommy for some tweaking as well? :p
