You can't go wrongo with a bongo. (Pic's inside!)
Just got a new Bongo 4HH Sapphire Black today! (I'm likin' the colour more and more as I look at it).
Bongo's are scarce up here, you rarely see them stocked, ever
. I've been waiting a year now (13 months actually) to find one to play/try. I didn't want to order one without playing it first because they're not really "conventional off the rack basses", so to speak. One dealer I went to told me he would not order them for stock (just special order). He said they would be too hard to sell(???). Finally one turns up at my local shop (ordered in January apparently, because I was bugging the bejeezus out of him!). I couldn't put it down. The range of useable sounds, the feel of the neck/fb, the ease of on the fly access to the tone/volume controls with my pinky, and especially the comfortable ergonomics of the body sucked me right in. What a wonderful bass! I think the Bongo is extremely under rated. It really is a true musical instrument in every sense. As a non-musical person, my wife commented that she really liked the "funky shape"
. I wish it had't taken me so long to get one.
