.....everything is just right and you think of nothing while you are playing. You just sort of let things flow without really "thinking" about what you are going to play next. When a guitar allows you to reach that state of mind where there are no thought distractions, it can be one of the best feelings in the world. No other guitar allows me to experience this more than my Music Man Guitars.

zen playing

i remember paying an improved solo over tom petty's "breakdown" many years ago and drifting into the zen zone

my band mates came over to me after and were all "that was amazing dude, where did that come from?!"

wish i could dial that ability up on demand

Yeah i've experienced that on ocassion. It's funny how (at least in my personal experience) when that happens unless you've recorded it can be hard if not impossible on occasion to remember what you played. It's like it comes from somewhere else  But i agree that the ebmm guitars have a certain level of "mojo".....moreso than some more expensive guitars i've played/owned :D

Yeah, but I don't think it's the guitar......it's the moment.

For me it is....I can play other guitars through my rig and some how not come close like it sometimes does with either of my Albert Lee guitars. There is something about them that just "fits" that allows that feeling to occur.

I think being able to consistently reach that place is a large part of what separates the good and very good players from the guys who are mind boggling. I have spent years trying to figure out how to get into the zone at will, but without much success.
