... a random audience member contacts you the day after the gig to say what a great time they had.

We played a hell of a great gig last night and today I got a really nice email. Made my day.

Another great sign was that a lot of people who were there at the start of the show stayed right through 'til closing time.

I love this job. Too bad it doesn't pay enough to actually, you know, feed me or anything like that. I figure if I keep gigging until I can't stand up anymore, I might pay for maybe half the gear I've bought.

That's great, glad you're playing such good gigs.

Generally, our gigs consist of our main circle of friends and a couple of drunken locals who 'just want to hear that one from matilda again.'

It must be a great feeling knowing people actually appreciate you, well done man!

That's awesome Mr. Douglas!

Congrats. I hope to have some of those experiences as well.

Thing is... if you read between the lines, you would have noticed a subliminal message that should have read:

You know you're doing something right when... you play a Bongo!!!

No, but I am rather fond of pancakes.

Oh, and GW, yes, absolutely. The Bongo kills, every time.
