My King V or my DV8 SE are the worst - you kinda forget how long the fins are and they kinda dont fit on guitar stands very well and get dents on the very points of the V.
I had a shiny new white Les Paul Custom fall flat on its face at rehearsal and broke the pickup switch. aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh
I dont even like getting the hard cases scratched - I was wetting myself when a band member just threw my Kelly, in its flight case, into the back of his van, but I am like that with all my stuff, I try and keep it all looking shiny new and nice!
On a similar note - when I got a Black Chrysler PT Cruiser, within a few hours of having it, a kid opened up a car door in the car next to me in a car park and whacked it in to the side of my car, so Im just dead paranoid - Im that paranoid about letting my mates have a go of my guitars especially my JP6 and my Slash Sig LP.

...in fact ther was an article in a german magazine, telling that guitars that have fallen to the ground (on the body), sound better  They were quoting some scientist who has carried out extensive "wood shock research":eek::eek:

well
all cricket bats must have this "wood shock" conditioning applied to it. it makes the wood tougher. without it the cricket ball will dent the wood on the first hit
perhaps the german was thinking along those lines

"New for Music Man guitars in 2010: All guitars will be pre wood-shocked. Every piece of wood will be dropped from a height of four feet, fifty times prior to assembly."

scratches? dings? chips? etc?

I bought all my gear to play ... and while I do not intentionally "relic" my guitars or amps, things happen ... and as long as the sounds are there, I am happy ... although there have been a coupla dings and burns and stuff that kinda just hit me the wrong way over the years ... :):)

cheers always, eh
