Here's what I use...In a sense, since I need to get a cabinet (2x12) for the Mesa...

DG JP6/piezo and a modded OLP in C-Tuning with AN/DS combo.

I also have a Spider II 15, but that doesn't deserve a pic. I also have a Crybaby 535Q.

Oh, I'm not some rich kid either, I WORKED for all this stuff.

This is what I use. Nice and simple. Line 6 Duoverb and Boss Super Overdrive. I also have a Boss Super Chorus in the loop, and sometimes use an MXR Phase 90 too. This setup sounds great and defies the fact its a cheapo digital amp!

MXR Dynacomp- CE-2 chorus - Dod 250 overdrive - Diamond J-Drive

between my ASS and my Z.

used for rock, blues, jazz ..... and if it's a paid gig, then whatever songs are on the set-list

As noted in my signature list, I use a Line 6 Flextone III XL - plenty loud enough, and with the floorboard, I avoid the snakes nest of cables and various foot pedals I used to have. No more hassles with wall warts or batteries, and just about as flexible as I could possibly want it to be. I've been down the Marshall road (JCM800s, a Bluesbreaker [read - BACK breaker], and even a Silver Jubilee 25/50 head), Fender (Twin, Deluxe), and Peavey (Classis 50 4X10 Tweed), but nothing offered the sounds and spared my back quite like the Line 6.

Oh, I still have mine, Rob, and I love it. It just isn't as flexible sonically as the Line 6 is. If anyone was to ask about the Peavey Classic line (I also have a Classic 20 for wailing away in small spaces) I would definitely recommend it. My 4X10 can just about out-Bassman a reissue (but comes nowhere near a real late 50's Bassman). I play in a cover band and we play a wide variety of music - we try to be as authentic as possible, so I would need a truckload of amps to accomplish that. Instead, I spare my back and carry the Flextone III XL - it ain't light, but it ain't a Marshall Backbreaker either!

I have no problem getting the guitar tones from all my EBMMs now, especially after adding the AL!

I either use a Mesa F-50 combo or a Rivera Rake head with Avatar 2x12 cabinet. Just depends on the application (and if I feel like schlepping the head and cabinet around).

Thanks John, I'm in a cover band too, and my Hot Rod Devillve 4x10 does a decent job, but i feel the Peavey Classic 50 is a better amp all-round, and sounds little nicer. I played my Pinkburst the other day at a guitar shop that had the classic 50- just great tones, even the people in the shop couldnt believe it! They had previously tried to talk me out of the Peavey!
