Why do you guys prefer the Silo Special to the Silo?

For me it's not that there's a huge difference in the Silo neck and the Silo Special neck in terms of the shape, it's that I "grew up" playing 21-fret vintage-style Strats and the 22-fret Silo Special is closer to that "feel" than the 24-fret Silo.

It is hard to tell when you look at the photos, but if you are looking at both a Silo and Silo Special in person you can tell the Silo body is slightly smaller - both cutaways are deeper (particularly the treble side) to allow access to the extra two frets. When I say "my favorite neck is the Silo Special" what I'm not saying out loud is I prefer the feel of the Silo Special to the feel of the Silo including the way the body hangs and the position of the pickups. The Silo is "second choice" since the neck is pretty similar but the guitar feels a bit different.

Hope that makes sense.

Got it.

OK, here is the deal... Name your favorite EBMM neck from any model and any year.

We all know that Music Man Guitars have the best necks of any guitar. Which one is your favorite?

the neck on my '05 Super Sport honeyburst - maple with matching headstock - still the most comfortable and fun to play.

cheers always, eh

Hate to be the fanboy, but I really like them all. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be a close call between the Axis and LUKE necks. Axis by a nose.
