BTW I think Jeff Beck is gearing up for a tour again here in the states. For sheer HOW-THE-HELL-DOES-HE-DO-IT moments, Jeff has few peers and is actually getting better with age.

Unbelievable watching this guy coax notes out of his instrument.

I didn't think of this earlier, but why limit it to 3? Make a festival out of it.

Call it "Guitarmageddon" and include every influential guitar player out there.

Morse, Petrucci, Vai, Satch, Eric Johnson, Al Di Meola, Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, Dweezil, Nuno, etc....

For me it would be: (No specific order)

~John Petrucci
~Joe Satriani
~Andy Timmons

Also, Ernie Ball should do a version of their own G3: EB3 consisting of artists that play EBs. My pick for that would be..

~JP
~Luke
~Morse

I like both of those. JP needs some new solo material, though.

+1 Beck is amazing.

Joe Satriani's my favorite guitarist so I'd always like to keep him in the lineup... as for G3'ers we haven't seen yet, I think any of the following would be cool:

Eddie Van Halen as a solo player (Alex on drums, someone else on bass and keys)
Andy Timmons
Joe Bonamassa
Greg Howe
Steve Morse
Jeff Beck

I limited it to three because in all reality, there is always going to be 3 guitarists (hence G3). Although, some shows, like the one I went to they had a guest appearance, I don't remember who it was though. He couldn't compare with Satch, PG, and JP.

Satriani, of course.
Morse, IMO the best
Tony Macalpine for a different answer from everyone else!

Maybe not a likely G3, but i'll throw some names in the hat.

Trevor Rabin
John Petrucci
Mark Tremonti

Rotating bassists of Chris Squire, John Wetton, and Geezer Butler.

As per G3, there would be some mad (prog) jam at the end, with all on stage.

Vince Gill would be on standby to add flavour if required.

Probably need a Bruford or Peart to keep things outrageous :)

John Petrucci

Guthrie Govan

EDIT: On a sidenote, each of their last names come up as a spelling error in firefox :(

IF they have to be living:

Wayne Krantz
Phil Keaggy

Those are the only guitar players per se I listen to. The rest are bands.
