To be honest I think it should stay LE. I'm biased because I just put an order down on a BC Bongo but I think if you make it a standard color the LE status is then moot.
The limited time frame, custom details and unique colors are what the Limited instruments are about. I'm sure if the 20th anniversary Ray's were still produced as standard instruments the people who originally purchased the basses wouldn't be too happy about it. It's not that huge a deal but I would prefer that they stay as such.

IMO...and due respects to EB....to get the finish right....but to say no, you can't have it..simply defies all logic.

In this case EB....you've got it wrong....IMO

( I'm outta here quick smart ;) )

I voted yes to the BC as a standard finish. It is simple and timeless enough that I think it will be a popular seller years down the road. Plus it may just catch the eye of some "vintage" players who wouldn't consider a Sparkle or Kermit Green finish. IMO the limited editions should be a little wilder / more unique than standard finishes (like Hummer Yellow - come on E-B - how many times do I have to tell ya! :p ).

I voted NO, NO, NO (no offense)

The fact that it is LE adds to my enjoyment of
owning my future Bongo5HH & makes it unique.

SLO should bring trans white/Mary Kaye back
into the line :D (sorry Gav)

It's not fair to the folks who paid extra for the Limited Editions.

The headstock and gold lettering aren't enough. The real deal is the finish.

Hey guys, thanks for your honest input...all of your points make perfect sense, and I will concede that it could take away from the aspect of only being on said bodies....to a point. Did it take away from the LE's that were produced in Radiance Red last year, though, which is now a standard color? :)

I would be content if, after the LE run, they made it a standard color, just as they did with RR.

Man, you guys have no idea how much I thirst for that color, but can't do rosewood (I'm a maple-maple guy!)

Thanks again for your thoughts, folks. I appreciate the honesty and non-favoritism. :)

I too voted no.

It would take away the "Limited Edition" vibe if buttercream were a standard finish.
I didn't even realize that BC was "limited" when i switched my order BUT even if it was to become a regular colour, all of the Limited's would have the special neck plate as well as the elusive SN#'s to prove they were the hip ones first! , plus the Bongo dots could be changed back to crescent like normal and the lettering on the headstock could go to black lettering or something and not the Ox blood burgundy that it is now on the Limited run.....

pd

i do think it should join the ranks as a regular colour but i guess we'll see how many orders they get for this run first.

The Yes's Are Ahead

I see that the yes's are ahead 25 to 21. (I voted yes because I like the color.)
