Okay, so my bass came with a black pickguard...I decided to buy a clear pickguard....My girlfriend( Art major in College) tells me it looked better with the Black guard. I'm kind of torn about it. I love the Autumn Red Burst Sparkle, so having the clear guard showed of the fabulous paint job, BUT...The contrasting pickguard makes it have the classic StingRay "Look"

What do you all think?? Please ignore the NY Mets insignia...just a decal.

i like the black pg w/ the decal. how about a larger one? or maybe even cut out that shape into the pg to reveal the sparkles underneath? i'unno. dont try it at home.

I like them both, but as you said I think the black pg gives it a classic look.

If your girlfriend is an art major, why don't you get her to design something original you can put under the clear guard. Might be a cool alternative.

Looks good with both.

The clear pickguard just has the edge over the black (just) - in my opinion. Covers up less of those sparkles.

But you can't go wrong with either ... beautiful sparkles.

I like both, but i think clear is more original... what about a not totally clear, kind of translucent pg in some orange-red tone. i think that will be cool

There is no wrong selection here, though I fancy the "clear" choice
Maybe some black screws to trace the original PGuard pattern may enhance the look. Either way no mistakening that lovely instrument as none other than a SR. Well done, love it.....

Black all the way, to me the pkgd' makes the finish more focused and striking sans the Mets Logo. Bass-Ball not Baseball.

you clear guys must be out of your mind! ;););)

clear pickguard is a nice idea, but ive yet to see one that works the way it does in my mind.. black, black and then black.. perhaps the 5 ply 30th pickguard would work as well (black, creme, black, creme, black) :D
