I voted 6 / 6. One neck tuned standard and one in open tuning.

When I was in my early teen years I wanted to be Jimmy Page soooo bad. :) Since then, my desire to own a double neck faded significantly. :D

For me, if I haaaaaaad to get a double neck; it'd be one neck in normal tuning, and one in the Devin Townsend tuning; essentially just open C. Probably be really useful to have a piezo attached to the neck with the open C tuning as well, just for the sake of allowing for versatility in playing techniques.

I'm thinking 6 string + mando guitar (like the 2nd guitar player in Big Wreck, "Wolves" anyone?).

I've never had the opportunity to play one. I'd probably go 6/6 with one neck having a special tuning for slide or something.

I was also considering a custom double head guitar:

This reminds me of a guitar that Justin Hawkins had made!

I used to have a 6/12 double neck. It was heavy but it was fun and creative.

Just had a thought though...My ultimate double neck would be...

Guitar one: maple neck with a triple single pickups. Hard tail

Guitar two: rosewood neck humbuckers and a trem.
