[SOLVED] sorry to come back to that thread after such a long time. A wire within the humbucker was broken. Tech could fix it. -

GHmm ... I'm not aware if there were any PCB changes like that, but I'd guess not. Some guitars just sound different- wood and all. But...

No, it's fine. While many luthiers like to reduce the height of the nut to the strings (or even half the string over the top of the nut)...
