Hi. Thanks again for all info about my SR5, serial # 51979. Now I realized that the colour actually is trans red. It´s just that it is a very dark trans red. Is it possible to determine if it is alder or ash in the body, since I understand that both occured?
Thanks!

In the 90s we used a mix of Alder, Ash & Poplar for the body wood. The serial number database doesn't specify that information for each specific instrument, but the trans red was most commonly Alder.

Hi! I'd be very interested to find out more about my Stingray 5 (particularly date of birth and the type of wood used for the body, if that's available). The serial stamped on the bridge is 56325.

Thanks very much for this excellent service!
