sorry. that guitar is @#$%ed. I'd dump it. As stated earlier, the truss rod needs to push against the neck for tension. Does it rattle around? Regardless, even a good luthier would just end up sistering wood to fill it back in but the fingerboard would be impossible to recover and I would always question the sistering job whether it will shift or creak. It's a shame. Just being honest.
I’m keeping it. Yea the neck isn’t original and the truss is all kinds of wrong, however I’ve been playing it for almost a week I dig it. Until it stops functioning properly I’m not messing with it. Too bad Ernie ball doesn’t sell individual necks. I have another misfit PRS and it’s funny that it gets as much play as my “perfect” guitars because it plays and sounds awesome. I’m hoping for the same luck with this one.

Can you post more closeup pictures of the neck. Really interesting to see how non original necks can look. May help people in the future to avoid “fakes”. Thank you

Here are some pictures you requested. The real neck has chrome hardware and the imposter neck has black hardware. If I had been able to inspect in person I’m confident I would have noticed a few of the discrepancies, however some are less noticeable. Let’s see what you guys think. In one of my earlier posts I point out what was evident to me.

I will say that for being a non-EBMM neck someone took a lot of time and effort to make a very good looking piece. All in all, if you're happy with the deal you got, and with the feel and playability then you're good. That is a stunning instrument in its current form and while you'll now be the responsible bearer of the bad news to any future buyer (that you wish you'd received before you bought) if you're in right then you won't get hurt too badly when you decide to sell and you have enjoyed this while you had it.
