first of all please either stop the booze or stop the drugs . man what are you thinking of a vintage fender you must be kidding me. ive played many a vintage fender and the only thing good about them is that you can sell them at over inflated prices to people who think their cool . as for playability get reall they suck . go get yourself a new fender precision copy about $200 kick it around a bit , warp the neck , scratch the backup and hey presto a vintage fender.

fenders are like a**holes everyone has got one. Keep the MM...

One good reason is that they sound good.
A second good reason is they look good.
A third good reason is they play good.

The only thing rare about fenders is that you won't ever get those three points at the same time... (and infact I have never even seen a good looking fender)

How well will a 1930 Ford serve you driiving it today's traffic? At the gas pump?

Progress is just that. It is cool to collect old things but to think they are better than things that outshine them only makes really old folks feel good.

I am old. I like new things that work better. Vintage to me isn't worth a crap.

Model T Fords over heated every 15 minutes. The Model A well.. this just isn't the right forum to go into that but...

My Bongo will also kick some serious P bass ass and I have proven it.

You can always get a vintage Fender later on. They are not hard to find these days. On the other hand you have a rare MM as has been pointed out. Keep it. You will regret selling it later...

That wouldn't make for a daily player if one spent that kind of money. Well it wouldn't for me any way. The MM is a players bass.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE ERNIE BALL MUSIC MAN BASSES, I can afford any High End Bass on the Market, money is no issue here, but I choose to play Ernie Ball Music Man basses.
WHY?
Simple, nothing sounds better, nothing is built better. So for me it will always be an Ernie Ball Music Man bass.

Money IS an issue here. Sure, I could play Ibanez or something and save myself some money and I could still play gigs.

But for reasons stated in the above posts, I work my fanny off and get the money to play the fine EBMM basses I play.

Well, that and my parents decided to be extra generous for my graduation. :p

EBMM. The sound in your head.

I have a few Students that work Hard for their Music Man Basses that I felt good about talking to their Parents why the investment was important. In some way we all work hard for our money nothings ever free but it's all worth it when you save to get that Ernie ball bass and it rocks. Gotta Love it.

Well this whole Vintage scene has got way out of hand but it's reality. What can we do, but when those 20K and 30K Fenders sell theirs buyers and they don't mess around , they pay. because whats retail today is not retail tomorrow.
