I just did a search and didn't come up with anything. Maybe Fogman has a picture of Blue Dawn. I hear its a blue sparkle that goes toward black at the edges.

I'll be jumping on a BFR AL the minute they open the order window!!

I am not sure BFRs are going to be an order window type thing. My sense is that BP wants to show EBMMs commitment to quality by making some pieces with a little something extra. He did not make it clear that these pieces would be generally avaiable.

Think of a wine maker - might make a large quantity of a great Merlot and then a few cases of a reserve Merlot - representing the best of what they can do with a Merlot. That's how I picture a BFR instrument - I am just not sure how and to whom they might be available. Dave's mahagony Bongo and the Luke at the Saturday talk were representative of the BFR effort.

you know i was just thinking about that Eggman, how would they do the whole BFR thing if its a VERY limited run, like 25. some very lucky people.......

just keep that rosewood Axis SS in production......

I guess we will have to see how the BFR thing plays out. By looking at Dave's bass and Steve L's guitar - the BFRs - however they get produced are going to be some special instruments. Right now I am looking at what configuration I want in an LE07!!.

I think the Ball Family Reserve is going to be similar to the private stock offered by other companies like PRS

Nah, Private Stock is totally different.

You are basically commissioning PRS to make you whatever you can afford. The only limit is what you are willing to spend.

There's no limit on production of them, just cost. The typical Private Stock guitar (if you commision it) starts around $12-13k.
