(In no order other than chronological)

1. Doing 120+ in a few places on the way to Dallas (hey, it was fun for me!) :D

2. The initial hang at the bar at the Hyatt, seeing a lot of familiar Open House faces.

3. Me guiding three taxi's to Love and War via Google with my cellphone. :D

4. Checking out the Koa and Walnut Silo's and the black Flamed Al for the first time.

5. The food and the great conversation (thanks for the chat Eggman! :)).

6. The group talk on Saturday and hearing about the BFR's and '07 LE's.

7. BP letting me plug in the Koa and Walnut Silo's for a little bit before they moved all the gear. Thanks so much for that Sterling!! :D

8. Visiting with Dudley and watching them swap coils out of the prototype wah for Luke to use that night. Also had a really nice chat with his friend who's name I cannot remember, he explained a lot of what they were testing to me (for the new wah). It was really fascinating, fortunately, my rudimentry knowledge of electrical engineering is still in tact. :)

9. Talking mountainbikes and motorcyles with Jon and Maddog (I don't know your real name! :D) for a good hour+ in the bar at the Hyatt. I think I may have abused them with some of the hillarious stories about me hurting myself and laughing about it.

10. Talking to the Chef at the Hyatt, who is also from New Orleans, and having someone to relate to about all the events there. Oh, and the food too. :D

11. I was really flattered by how many people talked to me about my band, the YouTube video and wished us well. Thanks to everyone that grabbed a CD and takes the time to listen. It really means a lot to me and the guys. :)

12. Dave LaRue's solo bit with John drumming! Good lord, that was definately the highlight of Saturday for me!! I almost fell over after that. :D

And lastly...

13. Almost 2am last night, Sterling was taking off (as were most of us) and he paused for a sec, put his arm around me and said "So Jeffrey, did you have a good time?" My reply? "Hell yeah I did. When's the next one?" :D

As always: great people, great music, AMAZING intruments and a good time had by all.

That seems to follow EBMM around. :)

That is his real name...He told me he was raised by wolves after his plane crashed (at the age of 24) in the high Sierras. Not like those crappy lower Sierras.

I don't know Jon's real name.

Way too many to pick just one.

The one that makes me giggle right now is Dave LaRue saying, "Is that Chuck Rainey?"

Me saying, "Indeed it is."

Dave says, "Would you mind introducing me?"

Wrap your minds around that. Me, introducing Dave LaRue to Chuck Rainey.

It is a strange and wonderful universe, isn't it?

Next time, would you mind introducing ME to Chuck Rainey?

Hey, he's MY special friend, I'm not giving him to YOU.

Actually, anyone asks me to introduce them to someone I know gets the same answer as when they ask to play one of my basses.

"Of course."

It was a socially confusing evening for me. I had a lot of things to keep track of. It was much harder work than it looked like.

(I am so full of sh!t here.)

Ouch! No credit for snapping that one!?! Give me some love NorM. :p

Hiya Jeff. As you can tell with all the threads, things have been crazy around here. Will get back to you sometime today. So funny, I'm taking off work to catch up from my vacation.

Favorite moments

1. Being on stage with Sterling and John and Ed.
I was actually going to ask Sterling to play my song DREAMING with me but felt the chance of rejection too overwhelming. So I didn't. Then they all come up and just joined in after the first verse. DREAMING indeed!

2. Meeting and hanging out a bit with the GC guys.
I love talking about guitars, amps, and music, but only for so long. My passion remains great companies and the men who made them great. Then investing with them if possible.

3. Tommyindeleware at Guitar Center.
A lot of us ended up at GC Saturday. Tommy was sitting down with a rosewood axis and I wandered over and asked if he could play a few Morse tunes while I watched. Tommy breaks into STRESSFEST, then I request THE EASY WAY off the same cd which he plays, then he jumps into TWIGGS APPROVED. That was just awesome thom! Thanks for that...and the keyrings.

4. BP making the announcement Sat night that Norm is getting married.
Of course...if Blue Dawn LE sales figures fizzle, that's probably the end of Norm as we know him.

5. Luke soloing all night Saturday.
And on a side note, watching young buck Tyler tear it up.

6. Larry and his wife Susan looking like different people
Those two are kicking ass on their weight loss journey. They both look so great. Congrats to them. And thanks for all the shuttle rides, Larry. GC, lunch both days, to and from the friday bbq gig. Although being the only guitar player in an SUV (that sat 7) full of bass players and sitting on the hump in the back seat could be used at Gitmo to get the detainees to break.

7. A few private moments with Sterling that also meant a lot.
Don't even go there, you sickos!

The lesson to be learned from all this is that if Sterling invites you to a party where you hang out with great players and key industry people in a community he largely created and keeps nourishing, you take him up on it circumstances permitting.
