1. Being on stage with Sterling and John and Ed.
I was actually going to ask Sterling to play my song DREAMING with me but felt the chance of rejection too overwhelming. So I didn't. Then they all come up and just joined in after the first verse. DREAMING indeed!
It was not a dream

2. Meeting and hanging out a bit with the GC guys.
I love talking about guitars, amps, and music, but only for so long. My passion remains great companies and the men who made them great. Then investing with them if possible.

3. Tommyindeleware at Guitar Center.
A lot of us ended up at GC Saturday. Tommy was sitting down with a rosewood axis and I wandered over and asked if he could play a few Morse tunes while I watched. Tommy breaks into STRESSFEST, then I request THE EASY WAY off the same cd which he plays, then he jumps into TWIGGS APPROVED. That was just awesome thom! Thanks for that...and the keyrings.

4. BP making the announcement Sat night that Norm is getting married.
Of course...if Blue Dawn LE sales figures fizzle, that's probably the end of Norm as we know him.

5. Luke soloing all night Saturday.
And on a side note, watching young buck Tyler tear it up.

6. Larry and his wife Susan looking like different people
Those two are kicking ass on their weight loss journey. They both look so great. Congrats to them. And thanks for all the shuttle rides, Larry. GC, lunch both days, to and from the friday bbq gig. Although being the only guitar player in an SUV (that sat 7) full of bass players and sitting on the hump in the back seat could be used at Gitmo to get the detainees to break.

7. A few private moments with Sterling that also meant a lot.
Don't even go there, you sickos!

The lesson to be learned from all this is that if Sterling invites you to a party where you hang out with great players and key industry people in a community he largely created and keeps nourishing, you take him up on it circumstances permitting.
Keith, you left out:
8. Talking to me on the phone....

man, the weekend was great.

i loved hanging out with good ol stank. we talk on the phone all the time so hanging out with the (not so) little guy was great.

seeing Luke play is always beyong inspirational. he's awesome. i cant say enough.

seeing spinner, someone who's work/skills i was not familiar w/ at, was a blast. the guy rules.

mr ferraro is awesome.

getting a chance to ask larue about finger playing style was an honor. hes top notch and the fact that he was so cool as to "school" a punk like me, even if it was breif, was an honor.

hanging out with BP is always fun. dude's super cool obviously and even more obvious is that he's a generous and caring dude. he rules ... i wouldnt just call anyone "pops". pops is the shiz and i mean it dammit!

meeting marty from GC was great. he's a wonderful guy. much respect to him as a person and the beyond tough job he's got. but he's got the irght spirit and approach - you gotta respect the hell out of him!

did i say "LaRue" yet? dave rules!

tyler. man - im like 13 years older than that kid - but when i grow up i wanna play like him. kid's got chops! seeing Luke bond with him was rad. (so was that time when Luke flipped him the bird).

oh man - honestly i could write a paragraph about each n every one of you but i wont cuz im lazy. you guys know i think you're dope.

oh ya - one thing i love is that all you guys can play. its badass to have all these friends that can throw down and show you a thing or 2 - in some cases 3

:)

Oh, I dunno.

I'm not a very "HEY LOOK AT ME!" kinda person. :)

Ask BP, I didn't even play at the jam because I'm not "aggressive enough". ;)

I figured, I gig pretty often consistantly in front of 300-500 people, I have nothing to prove, I get to play out a lot. :)

But yeah (sorry for the tangent), I'm just a not "in your face" sorta person, but wil chat it up with just about anyone if they take a sec to talk to me. :D

Jeffery, I was wondering why you didn't get up to play man. You sounded great after the 2pm thing playing. You sound great on your CD, it would have been nice to hear you play on Friday.

Well, it's not that I wouldn't have, I certainly would have. I just got the impression that a lot of people wanted more badly to play than I. I figured, hey, maybe they don't get the opportunity to play in front of people as much as I do, so let'em have at it, ya know? :)

It's all good, I had a great time either way the whole weekend. :)

Sterling is an amazing person for even contemplating things like this for us Knuckleheads. :D

my favorite moments:

fighting over shotgun with kbaim.

getting a booty bump from Beth.

getting a bunch of picks.

telling Dave Larue AND Chuck Rainey that dinner was ready.

fondling a bunch of nice basses in room 3105.

ordering a margarita then being handed one in a fishbowl.

eating lunch with the GC guys.

explaining to BP about my anaphylactic shock only to be pre-empted because BP actually reads my posts.

Getting home and finding out somebody else got a hold of my camera.

and finally, getting to meet everyone and being treated like family.

One qoute I remember:

NorM: "Can you open this. You're a MacGyver type"
Me: "I'm on an airplane. I've been completely denuded of anything resembling a tool."

Denuded.

Nice usage, Tom! :D
I don't recall that "exact" word. If that is what you said you expended it so eloquently that it acquitted ingenerate to your vernacular.

I digress

Denuded v.
1. To divest of covering; make bare.
2. Geology. To expose (rock strata) by erosion.
