hello you all, I've been reading this forum a lot but did not post often, At first I'd like to say this place is as great as the instruments build by the EB team: top notch!!!
BUT i've always wondered why you folks at EB use tung oil finish for a neck, I know its probably to get that vintage, broken in feel of a basse but it personnaly turns me of, when a a stingray/sterling/sr5 with maple board, my only desire is to bring it to my luthier and to have a gloss finish sprayed on it.... So my question is, why do you prefer tung oil??? and most important, why did you switch a long time ago from gloss to oil finishes???
Thanks for helping me out
ps: i'm turning 20 this year I'd be reaally tempted by a 20th SR5 HS rosewood with matching Headtock, have you build one yet, so I can see pics of it????
CHeers from Belgium, where the beers are sweet and instruments way to expensive!!!
