What do you have, what do you want, what do you like, dislike? What styles do you play etc? Post pics. Let it RIP

I am a metal head and prefer thrash type stuff. I play a lot of styles but prefer heavy. I will post pics when I get home.

VHT sends me a deliverance 120, a CL50 and a new 1x12 tomorow...I'll get a radial looper, an HEX memoryman and a new pedalboard too.

for the rest I still use my engl savage 60 and of course amplitube 2 with my macs.

I have back pain. I want an AL, and a hot woman who needs no commitments.

I play with myself a lot (see above), but also jam with friends and do some studio work. I suck at guitar playing, but I have fun.

Gear is limited to 2 Silo Specials and 2 Laney amps, which I’m content with, except for not having an AL . Maybe this summer.

As for gear, my amp is a Peavey ValveKing 1x12" combo. I ocassionally put a borrowed Lexicon MPX110 in the effects loop for some delays, choruses or reverbs, but mainly it's just straight in, no effects. I also have a Shure SM57 and a small Behringer mixer for recording. :) The SM57 I absolutely love, the Xenyx is OK, the Lexicon is a great unit for it's price, the Peavey is still great, but a tad bit too dark for my taste. As for styles, I play blues, rock, progressive, acoustic, funky, heavy, etc. The ValveKing covers it all - very versatile amp! All I need now is a MusicMan! :p

Hey duolos! Tell me about the Splawn - is that a Quickrod? I have my eye on the Splawns - I was told the Quickrod would get me the early EVH tone - is it true? Would love to hear som samples.

Bogners rule!

Dude - where's the Twin Reverb? :p

We all had to start somewhere. I felt it would be great to help us all align up with fellow friends here and talk shop in a new way. If I can ever help I am happy to do so. I have had a lot of gear and am always happy to offer what I have learned over the years.

The QR can do EVH tones.....it is a nice amp. The best Marshall made IMO...lol.

great to hear yet another cool and helpful guy around here. i'll start with this; how do you feel about the new Randall G3 series amps? the 212 combo is looking good for me. I need an amp that sounds great, with plenty of power, and that i can eventually play live with plugged into a cab and PA. It also can't cost too much :p

edit: a combo amp is necessary, since hauling a half stack in a mustang GT is just about impossible

At the moment, this is my practice set up:

Norrin, man nice setup, now do you run the POD thru the Orange cabinet or the preamp as well? You like those ZVEX pedals? I've seen the Nano head and thought it was interesting, though very expensive.

I hear you on the realiy of needing a combo. Thanks for the kind words as well. I will be honest and say out of all the amp makers, I am least familiar with actually playing time on Randall stuff. I have heard positive things but I haven't tried out that amp. I am sorry. If I knew more of a budget and desired tone you were chasing I could help you better if you feel comfy sharing that stuff. You are always welcome to PM me as is anybody else here. :)
