Damn, you caught me. That was all to impress a chick.

Look, I'm just sharing a little bit of knowledge. I'm sorry if you're offended that I pointed out how far off base you really are (employment with Line6 notwithstanding), but I wasn't trying to insult you. Misinformation doesn't do anybody any good. I think I addressed you with courtesy, and your response (while fairly incomprehensible) is mainly comprised of ad hominems. Insinuating that I don't get laid? Come now. You can ignore me if you don't appreciate my input, but when your reaction is to insult me, you only make yourself look bad.
So ...saying you giggled wasn't an insult? Ok...well, no biggie. Nice to have met the interesting people on here, but I'll just stick to the BaM forum..we may be PRS snobs, but at least we don't try to correct each other, and when we do, it is at least an understandable answer. I stick by what I say, and my answers. If you think I'm wrong by all means, live your life making x and y equal infinity..but I will be leaving this site, as I am playing a Valley Arts Luke, I'm not sure I like all the company on here. To answer another question, yeah, I do feel the 2.0 ounds better than the XT, and I have heard my old xt up against a 2.0, with me programming both units....and before you tel people how "wrong" they are, you may wanna make sure you know who you are talking to....so for everyone else, great meeting y'all, see ya in the funny papers...for engineering boy, go **** yourself. If that doesn't get me kicked off this forum, nothing will.

+1 Robelinda2. I appreciate your knowledge and experience Dakbri. Use your edit button and block out certain people if they bug you. I've done this and it's work wonderfully.

cheers,
abraham

btw do you find the pod 2 is better than podxt on the clean almps or on the high gain amps? i've tried pod 2 and very impressed with it's sound, but i finally take pod xt just because it has usb connection so it simple for me to record my guitar to the computer. so how do you record your pod 2 to your computer? thx dakbri

this is one strange thread, and not an indication of how great this forum is 99.999% of the time. Dakbri, stay and get to know us, we are likeable bunch really!
Dakbri, I have to agree with Rob ... stick around, good bunch of guys here. There's the occasional flame but it's worth just ignoring it.

Stick around man, this crap is rare here. If you feel like someone insulted you, just ignore it. None of us here have anything against you, and it is in my opinion that you did not throw the first punch. At any rate, it's over now, and surely there's no hard feelings.

Excuse me - I'm not responding to Dakbri, but I sort of get the impression that a few people sort of think I'm in the wrong here, suggesting that he "didn't throw the first punch". How did I throw any punches at all? I was just trying to correct some misinformation, and I think it's very relevant to mention that because it would be a shame for people to start intentionally using like 12% of their Pod's capabilities because some guy in the internet told them it wouldn't sound as good if they ran more than one or two algorithms at once because it's only got 24 bits to go around. Perhaps I wasn't as polite as I could have possibly been to the guy, but just do a quick A/B comparison and I don't think you'll have any problem figuring out who was more cordial on the whole. "F**k off engineering boy"? And you guys are sticking up for him?

"This crap" on the forum is rare, but right now it's only coming from one guy, so I don't see why so many people are coddling him.

Uvacom- dude I know you were only trying to help, but he's a new user to the board and unfortunately your post came off (to me at least) as pretty condescending. Comments like "You really don't understand anything about how that little red reniform box does what it does" and "But please don't just guess" would get me riled up too. Yeah, his response was pretty dramatic too, but in all fairness I think you guys both share the blame for the negativity. But I'm sure you didn't mean it to be.

Anyway ... hopefully everybody can all make up and move on. The other month somebody launched a pretty nasty comment at me as well, what can you do but ignore it and take the high road. :)

It makes sense to want the correct information out on a forum. I wouldn't want to read something on here and think I was right when in fact I was way off. So whoever's wrong, it's whatever. There's no blame to be handed out. Correct yourself if needed. We're all here to learn and have fun.

I didn't see anything wrong with uvacom's post, he was just correcting Dakbri's post which at least to me sounded very inaccurate.

beej - fair enough. I can't deny that the tone of my initial post was a little condescending. The tone of this forum is overall quite a bit mellower than most forums I frequent, where adversarial discussions are the norm and people get thick skins pretty quickly, so playing nice is a bit of an adjustment.

Also, it's been said before, but it bears repeating - it is nigh on impossible to really convey intent on an online forum, and people can come across totally differently online than they do in person. That's why (for the most part) it's best never to take anything too personally, stick to the facts, and try not to make any inferences about people based solely on their posts.

I like guitars and fluffy kittens.

Here's me thinking that the digital modellers contained mini amps...

Here's me giggling about me thinking that this was empty, techie babble that was meant in a joking manner and now realizing you guys were serious. Techie babble = impresses chicks. Arguing about techie things with other geeks = does not impress chicks.

Despite the tone, it's always good to have knowledgable players chime in to discuss things. One advantage this place has is that many of us have already met and hungout so there tends to be a deeper level of respect, along with a good dose of funnin.
