Who said he cheated? (can i borrow this) "We as Americans" Should stand by our fore fathers foundation of innocent until proven guilty. Where is the manual that describes what is and whats not cheating? If MLB aloud player to use steroids(knowingly) is it still cheating? It may not be achieving your goals in a manner that you or I would go about. But is it cheating? So is drinking milk cheating? That too has been known to work wonders for the body. If rooting for Barry Bonds is a slippery slope then hand me over some ski's or a snowboard cause I'll take on the black diamond baby!!! Now lets not forget this discussion is about barry....not kevin. I take exteme pride in being a humble and honest!

Would i ask Barry to babysit my child? no........Would I tell my little brother "Now there is a nice man to model yourself after? no......Will I nominate Barry for a Nobel Piece Prize? No way!! But I'll continue to support my favorite player(good man or not....who knows i've never hung out with him)and my favorite team until death do us part! Accuse him of anything you want...but the only thing Barry Bonds is guilty of is being the best player I've ever seen!! Nice guys don't win ball games....and ball games don't make nice guys! I plead the 5th from here on out(i think) ha,ha,ha,ha!!!

alright....now back to thinking about Dargin wearing the Black and Orange!!!!

Im sure that Roger Maris never did "Greenies" that every baseball player took. SInce the shrpening of the spikes by cobb to the corked bats doctored baseballs, it has been a game where the game within the game was to find any advantage possible.

BOnds kept the extention going. Period. I know many professional atheletes from NHL, NBA, MLB, NFL past and present. They all dont understand why the public is so shocked.

Can we talk about Will Clark? he definitely never took steroids...ha,ha,ha,ha!!! His offseason workouts consist of Skeet Shooting and Duck hunting! Only bummer is he cheated and used a "Duck Caller"

Bud Selig and the entire management for the MLB are to blame outright. Baseball was flourishing prior to the strike in 93'. The strike paved the way for sports fanatics to find a new outlet. Meet the rise of the NFL.

After the owners and the union agreed upon a certain revenue split, everyone turned a blind eye to the rise in the home run ratio. Why? Chicks like the long ball? I beg to differ...

There's a reason why rules and testing weren't put in place. NBA, Boxing, NFL and countless other professional sports organizations tested for anabolic performance enhancing drugs. MLB was purposely naive.....They new that power and home runs were the way back into the American public's eyeballs. Now that the public has scrutinized how and why these atheletes are breaking records, the commish wants to have a whipping boy (meet Barry).

I think Barry juiced, but I also think countless other players have cheated.

I cant wait for Barry to break the record, and I will be clapping my hands because he is by far and away the most talented ball player of this generation.

Well boys the regular season has come and gone(for fantasy baseball) and low and behold yours truely lead the pack all years. Often times at night I lie awake baffled by my fantasy genius......pondering why I have been lucky enough to have been blessed with the Ultimate fantasy mind. Thank goodness I'm a humble man...and would never rub it in Darg's face that I finished with a .623 winning% and 12 games ahead of the 2nd place team, I'm way above that. ha,ha,ha :) :)

dargy finished in third, just a few games behind his brother....

Dargy stills wears his fantasy baseball champion T-shirt from 2002, I think I'll post a picture of him wearing it. It really jolts his confidence.

Hey Kevin!

Maybe it's time to change that avatar - looks like Barry is going to be in pinstripes. Too bad they're going to be horizontal! :p

I think I'll keep the avatar :) :) Well truth be told...if he lied under oath he lied under oath and you cant really get around that. I'm sure the investigation took into account the creditability of the witness'.....a "former" childhood friend(who bonds has had $$ disputes with) and an Ex-Mistress who just got done possing in Playboy. Hmmmmm'

I could really care less what happens now, as he is no longer a Giant, but is still the greatest baseball player of our generation. With recent leakages of Matt Williams, Paul Byrd and players like Gary Mathews it is becoming more apparent that Jose Canseco's estimate of 80% of players using Steroids is pretty close to being accurate. MLB new that it had a huge problem that was spirling out of control since 1998(and before) and it did nothing about it. Including steroids not being illegal/banned in baseball. Now MLB has seen the uggly side of things and wants to pin all of the blame and put the spotlight on one player.......enter Mr. Bonds. Why hasn't Rafael Palmero gotten indicted? He hands down said he never knowglingly of un-knowingly used steroids.....then TESTED POSITIVE(something that Bonds has NEVER done) but Raffy has not been indicted? Why would the gov't care if hes still playing or not? If he lied....he lied, right? MLB would love for Barry to take the fall and the heat for this. MLB is the real culprit. Bud Selig is a joke. I find it interesting that Barry wasn't indicted during the season...wonder if it has anything to do with revenue made leading up to #756????

thank god Barry isnt a Giant anymore...my blood would really be boiling right now! :)

Seems like the government ought to figure out the budget, declining dollar, Iraq/Iran/Pakistan, immigration, the home mortgage mess, etc before they tackle pro sports. Our priorities seem kind of messed up here...

I wonder what new evidence they've got (after four years) that justifies an indictment. It's been said you can indict a ham sandwich...

He's never tested positive, so: "If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit."

I agree with Kevin that he's the greatest player of our generation. Based on statistics he's arguably the greatest player of all time. It's too bad he doesn't have Derek Jeter's personality. None of this would be happening.

ok back off on the politics and kevin get your facts straight...most of the people you have mentioned were implicated in HGH growth hormone which wasnt illegal or agianst mlb policy until now.

As for perjury it is the cornerstone of our judicial system....the only one to escape punishment was president Clinton...Martha Stewart went to jail not because of an illegal stock trade but she lied.

If we dont insure at all levels of our justice system that there are consistant and severe penalties for perjury then we are more toast than we currently are....

/QUOTE]

Neither were steroids, MLB didnt' begin officially testing for steroids until the 2004 season.....and the first ever testing was done in 2001 in the minor leagues. MLB turned a blind eye to steroids for many years and deserves the bulk of the blame in my opinion. Your 100% right about purjury I'm guess I'm just surprised about the amount of time, money and invaluable court assets that have been spent on this case.
