Greets everyone! I just got home after spending the last few days in the hospital.

We went for Cajun food at a local restaurant and they tried to kill me.

Serious food poisoning! I had a lovely blackened chicken with crawfish etouffee'....

And nearly died from it!

I spent the night hovering around the porcelain altar. Finally collapsed around 4:00 a.m. from exhaustion! OUT COLD!

Patty rushed me to the hospital. My son Rainey flew in from North Carolina.

I woke up in the hospital the next morning with an IV in each arm and a very shaken but relieved family.

I'm still not 100% But I am getting there.

Apologies to KennetB for not sending the bass yet. I promise it will go tomorrow or Saturday.

Eggy, I'll shoot you some more cash next week.

Silverburst, I have received your parcel and it is helping me have a tasty recovery! My hat is off to you and Mrs. Silverburst.

If I forgot anyone, I am sorry. Shoot me an email and I'll get back to you soon.

And now, more boysenberry punch, and a nice nap! :D

Ritchie

P.S. Sorry Jack, but I am off your Gulf Coast cuisine for good! :D

You didn't happen to eat at Pappadeaux's, did you?

Thanks for the good vibes everyone! Feeling much better today. Only half dead!

You shouldn't eat cajun food any place where the average humidity is below 70%.

jw

What is this hoo-midd-itty you speak of?

Oh no! I hope nothing happened to your beautiful teeth! :D

Ritchie, I'm glad you're feeling better, how scary!!! Welcome back!

Nah, took those out. I did look kinda funny at the hospital without them.

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF SUCH A LAME EXCUSE FOR STRINGNG KENNETH OUT/

Hey Ritchie! Sorry about the food poisoning.
..It is hard to buy basses with IV's in your arms!

True BP, but it's the only one I could think of at the time!

Hey Ritchie, glad you're feeling better.

Wonder if the fish came from China? There's a story about poisoning going around
Looks like the FDA is about to ban all fish from China...not to mention toothpaste and a bunch of other products.

Well, they saw it's Louisiana crawfish, but that's no reason to believe it!

god maybe they will ban chinese guitars!

WOO HOO!!

Ritchie, the hospital may have done it already, but you should definitely call the County Health Department and report the restaurant. Food poisoning this severe could kill an older person or a child. They county will do an inspection and if there are food handling problems they'll tell them what they're doing wrong and keep an eye on them so they clean up their procedures.

I've done this every time I've had food poisoning. A couple of times it was the restaurant's procedures, but another time everything was fine at the restaurant. I'm sure even with the best of procedures things can happen beyond their control. (Which means that if it wasn't the restaurant's fault you won't be telling people you got sick there because they were unhygenic.)

Already done! The Health Dept. was there the next day. Hard to prove it was their fault though. :(

No, a place called "Nawlin's". I should have known better by the name!

The restaurant must be in Prescott, right? I did a quick check and there is a "Nawlins" in Prescott...any place that has Montezuma, in its address, is a bad mojo!

Yeah, that's the one. It's on Montezuma Street.

Which is one road with eight different names!

Are you close by, dlb1001?

Jeez, I'm capable of whipping up some decent cajun stuff.

And I promise to not kill you!

Man that cajun stuff at your party was some of the best tasting food I have ever had in my life. You have got high standards to live up to there my friend.

Richie the title of your thread really scared the crap out of me. I'm in Tennessee for the month and I have my EBMMs stashed. Yes they are secured and insured but still I thought it was scary!

I'm glad you're doing better. At least you weren't turned into a newt.

I've had food poisoning once, but not that bad! I'd never wish that on anyone.
I'm glad you're ok.
