Ok kidz,

if you think you want(need) a new Music Man bass, you're probably right.;)
take itfrom me ... I'm stuck here in rehab too many therapy sessions from ever piezo lovin' again, dreaming of a new '07 LE Blue Dawnand a new 20th SR5 California Sunsetand regretting theday I talked myself out of ordering a new Bongo 5 HSPDargie Delight ...

Soooooooooo, Don't delayany longer, sell your children or the old firebird Trans Am in the garage, pickup the phone and call your nearest Music Man dealer and introduce him to your banker/ accountant over lunch everything that needs to be taken care of can be by supper time and you'll avoid all the heartaches and heartbreaks I'm feeling right now:(
unlike chocolate, Music Man basses are more like real love ... there's no such thing as too much:cool:

Do it NOW:p

Well said.

I was thinking on this the other night, and it strikes me that RIGHT NOW will be remembered as a high-water mark for EBMM. More great stuff is in store I'm sure, but in the past year we've seen the 20th Silhouette, the 30th Stingray, the 20th SR5, the BFRs and the Dargie Delight, and we're going to see the Bongo6 and Sterling5 soon enough.

That's nothing short of remarkable.

This level of productivity and coolness will not be seen again for a good long time.

"He who hesitates, masturbates"

At least that's how the quote was said to me. It was mostly aimed at hitting on girls but later chickening out.

I think I may have to take your words to heart...I've been enjoying a beater 5-string I recently rescued from a local pawnshop, and its got me wondering how much more fun (and better sounding) it would be if it were an EBMM...

...unfortunately (well not really) I just purchased a Taylor acoustic, so I think the wife would have a hard time understanding any more purchases in the near future!

Then don't tell her!

It's um, a long-term loaner from another forumite. Somebody who's going overseas and won't be able to take it with him, so he asked you to look after it. Yeah, that's it.

Or, better still, explain that it's replacing the pawn-shop 5-string and you're getting such a deal on it that it isn't all that much, really...and besides, you'll be able to sell the other 5 to offset the cost anyway. Talk fast enough and you can get her to believe that you're actually going to make money on the deal without saying so.

Geez, do I have to think of everything? :D

Oh, believe me, I've pulled that trick more than once! In fact, I converted a Samick Avion into a Gibson Les Paul that way!

It's when she starts looking at the bank account online and sees "BASSCENTRAL....$1,400.00" that the wheels fall off!

I appreciate the thought, though!

The best thing about my divorce is that now I can buy all the Music Man basses I want and nobody complains!

I ordered my 20th SR5 in Feb. and the Mrs still doesn't know. I've got a feeling my next show she'll be suspicious though.

She comes to your shows?

Wow.

My wife would rather do just about ANYTHING than come watch me play bass.

Seriously. Need a drain unplugged? A dog deloused? A colostomy bag changed? (Yes, she's a nurse.)

And not to toot my own horn, but I don't suck. (Well, not that bad, anyway. )

Oh, DUDE! You have only one bank account?!?!?

The reason I'm still married after 21 years is that we each have our own bank account (fed by an agreed-upon regular allowance) in addition to the shared house account. We also each have our own credit card. I do not have access to her accounts and she does not have access to mine, though we both know how much we make. We respect each other's privacy...I don't look at her statements and vice versa.

What makes it work is that we are individually responsible for our own "play" expenses. House expenses are house expenses, period, and are shared in all respects, including decision-making.

But when it comes to her hobbies or my hobbies, its our own decision and our own responsibilty, fueled by our own money and credit. I do not have to ask permission for new gear. It's all on my head, as long as I continue to feed the house account as I should.

If I get into trouble on my personal credit card, tough luck...it's my problem. The house may NOT bail out a spouse. The positive side of that is that the spouse has NOTHING to say about it. So, she can go throw all her money away from my point of view...I don't care, because it's HER money, not OUR money. And vice versa.

It works REALLY well. Of course, it only functions because both of us are responsible individuals who aren't about to abuse the arrangement.

The result? She has a nice car. I've got equipment that is worth as much as a less-nice car, and a relatively lousy car to get me around. And everybody's happy.

Mrs. Burst stopped asking awhile ago about the guitar and bass thing. She must be numb to it by now. She didn't even say a word during the 30th family photoshoot. She did shake her head a little, though.

Mrs. Host occasionally stops and stares at something that seems unfamiliar, but she seldom expends the energy needed to go ahead and ask about it.
