A an Apple Fan I am disappointed and disgusted with the Iphone. I bought one for my wife and set it up and it works fine for her. She will never use all that i has to offer.

I didnt open the box for mine because the first thing I discovered is that Isync doesnt support the Blackberry pearl which is my data device and a razr is my phone....It doesnt support the Razr either. SO I had to download a $39 third party blackberry syncing program, but still cant transfer my contacts to my mac for migration to the iphone. I have Phatty on his for me. Thank s a bunch. To make matters worse this Razr was just temporary with the 30 day return because my last one got destroyed ( a phone lasts me about 6 months....) and the ATT guy transferred my stuff to the phones memory instead of the sim card and there is no way to transer at the local Att store..so my options from att is to transfer the contacts manually...not going to do that

Not the biggie....I cant use my mail.ernieball.com acct. With my pearl it gives me my personal and work email. Apple is saying that they dont care about business and dont want it to work for business but this is rude with a $600. price tag.

Mine is still unopened I have read many blogs that are very critical too. I couldnt be more unsatisfied with apple and the whole buying process.

THey have an opportunity to be the first handset maker that dominates in all of your lifes needs Music communication device control and they just did about 70% job of design and 100% hype

The last Apple product I loved was the Apple ][e which came out circa 1983-84.

(BP, My uncle who owned a typesetting and graphics business back in the 80's had an Apple Lisa. He bought it because it could do Postscript and talk to his typesetting machines. He calls the Lisa the "big Mac".)

It's unfortunate that there are so many things that Apple missed out on. Are you going to return the phone, BP?

On the Razr and having the contacts on the phone memory instead of the SIM card, isn't there a way to copy from one to the other? I wouldn't be surprised if there's no way to do that, though. I've got a cheapo Nokia that has a feature to do that. Of course, one has to do it one contact at a time, but at least one doesn't have to re-type all the info.

the email problems are really just inexcusable.

one thing apple's good/bad at is making rev 2 way better. so since the iphone essentially runs os x im sure they'll have updates to address a lot of stuff but its still really lame for the early adopter folks cuz they get jacked.

the first set of macbook pros had a TON of problems. im glad i wasnt in need of a laptop when they initially came out. my old boss hated his... then 2 months later they were all fine n dandy.

I had read some rumblings about the stuff the iPhone wouldn't be able to do before it came out, but I wasn't in the market to be a guinea pig myself. Bummer that it's not currently working out for ya, BP.

FWIW, I think Apple completely dropped the ball with the Apple TV, too.

The Razr has bluetooth, right? Mine does. Can't you just sync it with Apples Address Book (That's how I keep mine current) and then upload the info to the iPhone through iSync that way? Seems like it should be lickety split.

norrin read my post isync does not recognize the razr neither does the address book

Does it depend on which version of the RAZR one has?

Maybe, because mine certainly does. But then BPs probably should too (since I know mine is probably older than his! :D), but maybe not. I think mine is version 3, but I couldn't tell you for sure.

I have a V3 Razr, but I don't sync it with anything. I do have a blueT hands free that works really well. Mostly I just want my cell to dial out and ring when it should :). Most business I keep to emails and text, easier on my memory LOL.
My biggest gripe with the iPhone all along is the typical cell phone thing, when the batterydies (won't take a decent charge anymore) I pitch the phone and get a new one. Apple is not big on the "replacement battery" thing.

NOrrin Do you think that phatty and I are that stupid? osx 10.4.10 and the cingular razr do not sync.

No, I do not think you guys are stupid, I am just trying to help. I have a mac. It is running OSX 10.4.10 & I have a Cingular Razr, which I believe is version 3 (perhaps your phone is a different version - I do not know). I have never had an issue Syncing the two devices. In, fact, I just completed a sync 15 seconds ago to make certain that I wasn't mistaken. So in my case, it is working - I really am just trying to help you troubleshoot the issue, so please do not take my posts as critical or hostile. Sorry if I offended you.
