I’ve dreaded this trip for months, but it’s finally time to go. We leave Sunday evening for LA, to Hong Kong, to Beijing and Shanghai. My wife’s work takes us there; I’m just pulling trophy husband/bagboy duty. It’s a fairly large group of healthcare professionals and I’m the only male spouse. So I get to tour around with the ladies while the professionals have their meetings. This is what I’ve always imagined hell would be like.

If there is a God, please let there be Budweiser (and lots of it) in China.

I was in China 3 years ago....that have the Budweiser, but do not drink anything with ice. The water there is less than stellar, and I'm being kind. The shower water has it's own unique smell.

Oh yeah...and enjoy the humidity!

It's basically NY except smaller. I recommend you go to Lan Kwai Fong to get some drinks and go to Tom Lee Music Stores to check out some naaasty balls!

Yeah...the bottled water is totally necessary. I had to brush my teeth using bottled water as well, and I stayed in a 5 star hotel. I loved the culture, and the people we met in China were some of the most friendly and warmest people we've ever met. China gave my wife and I our greatest gift (our daughter whom we adopted)...but you just need to be careful in a few areas when traveling through Asia as a whole.

There is definitely lots of Budweiser in China4...and while the KFC and McDonalds may not taste as they do here in the states, the Budweiser....is just normal ol Budweiser!! While in Shanghai, you'll probably be staying close to Long Dong or Long Yang Streets which is in the Poo Dong district of Shanghai odd names indeed, but very funny!! Make sure and ask the hotel about a private tour they go for about $30 a person and you get your own personal 4 hour tour...they'll take you all around Shanghai showing you some of the cooler sights such as Yu Garden(very cool), Traditional Tea Houses, The Bund and some 500 year old neighborhoods! Great bang for the buck, very safe and reliable. One last tip....watch out for the Cab Drivers!!!!! I have stories!!! Have a great time!!
