Looking for help from you guys with serious pedal setups.

Researching options for equipment when I get back to the US. Amps will come later, so I'm starting with pedals. I've always played multi-fx boxes but need to figure out something new that will work with my new JP and any other balls I acquire in the future.

First things first... volume/pan pedal to switch piezo/nonpiezo signals? I'll have a stereo out from my piezo JP into the EB splitter box, meaning two mono signals, and I think I want a stereo pan/vol pedal to do the work switching between A/B signals. I figured this would be better than a simple on/off switch which is always a bit harsh... also I think JP uses this kind of setup? So I was looking at the 500K Stereo/Pan Volume Pedal (P06165) to do the job. Will this do what I'm looking for? Have never seen one in a store to try out. Figured the pedal could be used for full on A signal or full on B signal or a mix of both.

Second (and in my ideal money-is-no-object world) I'd like to have 2 other expression pedals, one master volume which controls both A and B routes and also a wah pedal. I'm trying to get an idea about how to route this, especially thinking about where the compressor will eventually go in the line. Master volume last? I don't know. Obviously too I'll take suggestions as to which pedals are best, I don't have much experience in this area.

Appreciate any help you wonderful forumites can give me. Hopefully this is the beginning of a lot of questions/research/help toward a new setup.

Lets see Im sure EB do this pan/volume pedal, and if it has to input to it and it's main purpose is to blend the two then this will work,I will have to go find them and read up on them to be 100% on it

as far as routing it I would do this

Pan/Piezo or Magnetic-Volume-Wha

The placement of the Volume and wha is really a preference,
what you are doing in stage one is mixing your own input signal to the next pedal
so if you go into the volume first then you can control the amount of signal coming from your 'mixed' sound and either cutting or boosting this globally

Then into the wha!!! so your feeding your finely tuned signal into the wha

or you could put the wha then volume but your 'mixed' signal may not have enough lift.....signal going into the wha

If I were doing this myself I would run Pan-Vol.-Wha

try it both and see what you like best I think the way I suggest gives a little more control over your level

and also I would wait on another post that confirms the EB Pan pedal idea

hope this helps :)

dualrec, thanks for the input. you're right, i need to hear from someone who knows exactly if that pan/vol pedal will do what i need it to. the setup will be somewhat complicated because it will be split into two paths at the beginning.

interesting opinion though, i would always think wah first and then master volume? or all effects and then master volume at the end?

Thanks spud, so it can be used as a fading switch. Awesome.

Any ideas on the other pedals?

you can try this pedal, but I don't think it'll help you any.

hey most of the time I would say....

Master Vol. at the end of the chain but I dunno something about splitting the signal screams a control after the 'mixed'/panned sound and then the wha

as I said Its personal preference really

i wonder if i couldn't use a single stereo volume pedal at the end of the 2 effects routes? this would be impossible obviously if i was running two stereo signals by the end of the effects.

this is confusing, i should draw a diagram. of course, i have no hardware to work with right now anyway.
