Sticks,
Yeah, sometimes it is hard to find a "competent" bass player. And, with all the different styles and such a variety of tastes, it doesn't make it any easier!

I think this forum probably has some of the best bass (and guitar) players out there though. Hey, why don't you start playing bass and guitar (not necessarily at the same time).

No, it can be hard to find a "fit" with guitar or bass. There are many, many levels of skill, and both bass and guitar can be very difficult instruments to play, depending on genre/composition, etc. . .. We all know it takes labor (of love) and dedication to advance with either one.

Not everyone who owns one (Bass or guitar) knows how to play it at an advanced level, me being probably the least, but then again it's the "journey" of playing, not necessarily the destination!

Personal enjoyment, is the "main" thing, but that still doesn't mean they can play like La Rue or JP. Just my opinion, nothing personal.:)

Yeah the "Journey" is the funnnnnnnn. . . part of playing. But what an admirable goal it would be to play like LaRue or JP. I should be there by the year 2040...LOL

15 Songs so far

Hi Knuckleheads,

We downloaded the 15 songs that are highlighted on the setlist and made a practise CD.
So the Flying O'Learys will be prepared!

If anybody else wants to contact us with a certain song arrangement, we'll be happy to get that ready too.

Of course, if anyone really has their heart set on being up there with John Ferarro it's all his call - we're just the back up goalies!

We are also bringing a percussion rig so that we can add when John's on kit or we make a cool rhythm section duo - thus the stage name. We are for sure up for "sympathy for the devil" because we have a cool groove worked out and have played that one together before "Whoo whoo!!"

Hey S-SK8,

Thanks for your input, however, we already have John F. on drums for the songs noted with (TNT) on guitar. In fact we played with John a couple years ago at the SLO event, and we're looking forward to doing it again.

Try giving Sig a PM for the entire song list being played at the jam. Not all the jammers playing have posted their songs yet!.

If the Desert Bash is anywhere near the excitement of the SLO Open House (and I think it will be) then we are all going to have a lot of funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!

What a Drummer! I saw John Ferarro on drums a couple of years ago too at the SLO bash - He is awesome. I can't wait to watch him play again. He does a great power trio set. Only a couple more weeks till the Desert Bash.....YAY!

Tantric and Unique

'Can't fault people for being stoked about playing with John, if I happened to be on drums when Luke decided to get up, it would be a thrill.

I think that when people see "The Flying O'Learys" they'll feel more comfortable and will enjoy what we do as well - the whole husband and wife rhythm section is somewhat tantric and unique - you'll see.:)
