There is a 30th in Fairfax, VA GC

Last I saw, it was in really fine condition. I even polished it up, tweaked the truss rod, and read it a bed time story.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!:D:D

On another note, I just left Glen Burnie GC. I had him check to see if he was getting any 5 string Bongo's in as I was playing their lonely 4 banger Bongo, and the guy Sean told me that GC's weren't going to be selling Bongo's anymore  Has anyone else heard this, WTF ? I can't imagine it's true , but can anybody validate this ?

I say that we start tracking the price the GC is willing to dump them and maybe some people on the fence may get the benefit.

Yes, please! I've no idea what their price is, and the GC website doesn't list them. :(

Isnt the 30th just a great bass?

Probably, I'd like to be able to answer that... :D

This is not the same as normal production and I immediately said this is a one time exception to get the 30th's off the shelf and into caring hands.

Does that mean you'd (personally) clear an international sale?

My bass had a couple of finish chips on it was the reason they put it on clearance.

It came WITH A CASE FOR............$1319 !!!!!
And it weighs only 9 pounds.

OK it really weighs 10 1/2 pounds, but it was still a killer deal.

This is the best bass I have ever owned.

I discovered this on clearance right after the Labor day sale. It just sat there for six weeks. I really didn't think I would get it. But hey its Fresno. :D

well damn!!! I got mine about a week after Guitar Center near me got it, and I paid an arm and a leg. On the other hand, The 30th was worth every red cent I paid for it, or else I wouldnt have bought it. Im amazed that the 30th hasnt sold like the hotcake it is. That thing shouldve been flying off of shelves. I had to put it on layaway because I was worried it would walk away on me!

I think there's still one sleeping in the Tom Lee music store in Tsim Tsa Tsui.

But apart from that, none except for mine sitting in my bedroom :)

Around a month to 2 months ago, I tried to do a deal for a 30th Ann. Sting Ray and Markbass 12" combo at the Roseville, MI, GC store. The bass is still there as of last week, I believe.

For me, it was a no-go, because they couldn't find the case. They tried to sell it to me with a regular SKB case, claiming that the SKB was what came with it or that the SKB was labeled as being the case for the 30th. I can't remember. It was some ridiculous B.S. excuse that I couldn't have cared less about. The bass was in pretty good condition with a bit of fret sprout, though. No chips or scratches anywhere. It sounds and plays great. If you want it, go for it. They were going to knock off some $$$ to take care of the fret sprout, but they didn't make a move to lower the price for not having the G&G case. I suppose I could have ground them down, but I wanted the G&G case. I didn't care about knocking off more $$$. No G&G was a deal-breaker for me. To me, that's part of the 30th Ann. package, which is worth more than the sum of its parts to me. So, I took the amp and left the bass.

BP, if you want me to divulge the price, I will. EDIT: Okay, I just re-read your post. I guess that since we're tracking the price on these, I'll let the cat out of the bag. IIRC they were going to give me the bass for $1630 or so. With the adjustment they were willing to do for the fret sprout, $1530 or so. I thought it was an attractive deal, especially with the one year-same as cash financing until they tried to do this deal with an SKB instead of the G&G. As I said, for me it was No G&G = No deal.

Personally, I'd love to see someone buy it and have it go to a good home. If it had the G&G, I would have adopted it without a doubt.

And about 30 some odd more somewhere down in So. Cal. :p

On my trip to SoCal back in July, I saw at one or two sitting in various GCs. I can't remember which ones now, though. I believe that there was a beat up one that probably needed a new battery at the Covina store.

I saw a super sad 30th at the Lake Forest GC yesterday. Filthy, with a couple of fingernail-sized chips on the front.

That's a shame. We need to start a rescue shelter for these poor neglected basses. Send them to me and I will care for them and give them a good home.

GC still has Bongo's on order with us. In fact we're shipping quite a few on this next month's shipment....

Thanks for the response, I didn't think they would stop the Bongo, especially with the 6 getting ready to come out. I'm going to have to beat him senseless :D

Almost bought the 30th at the Bass Place in Tempe, AZ today, but it's still there as of today. Virtually unplayed, sounds amazing. If I was more of a five string guy, I would have walked out with it. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

...at last check, there was a 30th at the GC in Scottsdale, AZ. NorM and I checked this one out previously, and the G string part of the pickup seemed a little flat/gone. Also, Dudley's Wheel of Fortune did nothing to the rod. We brought this to their attention at that point, unknown of what the disposition is...

There was also a 30th at the GC in Summerlin, NV. (That's about 10 miles west of Las Vegas, for the geographically challenged!) ;) Looked good in your hands as well as 30' away (when they hung it back on the top rack, etc.)

There WAS one at the Tropicana GC in Las Vegas, but some crazy guy bought it back in February.

...ahem, I guess that crazy guy should get his pic on up here soon! :D
