Everyone....I appreciate the jesture. I would take you up on gear "loaners" but here is a fact.

I am extremely rough on my gear when I play live shows. I could not in good conscience have someone's gear knowing how I am. I play in a metal band and it is intense. Beth can tell you....I have had to replace tuning keys because I break them....But, with that said....I LOVE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU FOR THE SUPPORT!

I also appreciate the thought of a fund. However, again, I would rather you hold onto those nickels and give it to a more worthy cause. CLB, Roblinda or anyone else who are having life altering problems. This is a "material poseession" bummer and I can and will recover one way or the other. It means the world to me knowing you guys/gals are out there willing to help out. I am the same way with my fellow Knuckleheads.

Big Poppa....I have not shed a tear in years. Today, I did. I got your e-mail and I love you to death. Yes, the eye problem was a blessing in disguise and I will use it for sight reading (getting ready for lessons) and not sighting in.....
Pops....your kindness kills me. I have seen your many acts of kindness and I wonder how anyone can dispute your intentions. I am here for you always....and you know that.

Excuse me everyone....I need a tissue (minus the fish hooks) because I am so moved. I will keep you posted with info as I get it.

What an awful thing to happen.
You didn't mention what happend to your drummer's house, so I guess that there was no further damage, and noone was insured. Hope you can recover from your loss soon!

IVe swapped emails with koogs and lets just say hes insured.....

And again I'm amazed that BP not only reads and posts to these forums, but takes action way beyond the call of duty.


Regarding the fund idea: How about an Ernie Ball Musical Instrument Insurance which covers all sorts of loss and damage to EBMM gear regardless of where it happend on the world? E.g. I have not fully insured my instruments, because the insurance is insanely expensive, and it has so many disclaimers in it, they'd find some glitch to not reimburse me in case of disaster.

I also want to add this - if they catch the responsible party and he/she is convicted or enters a guilty plea of any kind - you can recover all the money lost through restitution included in the sentencing order. It may take a while - a long while - but at the very least you will monetarily inconvenience the perpetrator (or his parents) for a very long time by forcing them to make payments until you are reimbursed in full. I would suggest you make a very detailed list of all items lost, including receipts, if you've got them, and replacement cost quotes from your favorite dealer and forward this list to the investigating officer. Keep a copy for yourself. In the event charges are eventually pressed, forward those documents ASAP to the prosecuting attorney - this will ensure the correct level of charges are filed (property damage charge levels are based on dollar amounts of damage) AND that you will get those items included in the restitution order. Let me know if you have any questions.

Kids Im not grandstanding......... this is about koogs.

I will always try do what I can when bad things happen to good people. It just is hard to hide it. I didnt want you guys reaching into your pockets..you are the stars.

Here is what I did. We have some severe demo units that get used/abused on our kiosks at demo days and wapred tour. We are replacing as close as possible what he lost and if insurance comes through he returns them...if not the loss stings a little less.

Everyone....what can I say? I am still choked up from this. I followed Big Poppa's instructions via e-mail and talked to Derek Brooks. He is sending me some items as we try to work on the insurance issue....hopefully for the good. Meanwhile, I have a show on Saturday, Nov. 9th and I will be able to play. A few of the local bands have offered up their amps and drums so we don't have to cancel our show. AWESOME of them to do that! AWESOME of Big Poppa and all at EB to help me. I have not been this emotional in many years.

All of you are simply wonderful, thoughtful and kind. I love you all for the thoughts and for the jesture. It is quite humbling. I have met several of you through the years and everyone I have met are wonderful super cool people. Our "family" here is just that....FAMILY.

Pops....you know me better than anyone here....and you know I am not emotional....today, Kleenex has made money on the account of Koogs.

Again...everyone....just send positive vibes. Especially for my drummer and his family. The band room was a detached garage about 15 - 20 ft from the house. The fire also caught his huge oak tree on fire and the neighbors garage. Swirling winds contributed. The vinyl siding on his house literally has melted due to the intense heat! His house is also a crime scene and he had to vacate the house. I immediately offered up my place for them, but he is going to stay at his mom's house with his family. The most important thing to all this....no one was hurt. That was my main concern.

I will keep you posted as I am fed more information.

But also great to hear things are working out and good vibes for them to continue doing so.

Maybe we should have a general knucklehead fund for when the bad things happen to good people. I put together charity events here in Charleston from time to time...In fact, we raised over 20,000 when my sister was fighting brain cancer, and we're making it an annual event now for Brain Cancer Awareness...last year, we had Hootie and Cowboy Mouth involved...Good times!
