I'm not posting to initaite an arguement so lets just discuss.

I registered to find the DOB of my newly aquired 2nd hand EBMM JP7. It's my only one and will probably be the only one for many years to come. This is because EBMM guitars are very expensive (justifiably so) and affording them with today's cost of living is difficult for most of us.

Now I really appreciate those of you on here who have worked endless hours and overtime shifts to be able to start a small collection...that's great!!
But this assembly has crossed the line far into obsession.

I'll admit that at the top of the post I was jealous, but as I scrolled down and more and more flew by, I was shocked.

I feel that when somebody publically displays a collection like that, it deserves some justification because I, as a regular working guy, wants to understand it.

The net investment must be bordering $100,000.00 - which is more than the cost of a house - and while the majority of people in the US are struggling to pay increasing mortgages, those 43 guitars are gathering dust.

Sam, I understand that you're jealous, I'm sure most of us are of Ernie's collection. But from what I've learned on this forum from being here a while, Ernie is a great guy, and just likes to collect guitars. Nothing wrong with that at all. Its not like its as bad as movie stars that go out and buy $25,000 handbags and never donate to charity or anything. You're making it seem like he murdered somebody or something along those lines. Frankly, I don't think that anyone has to justify owning that many guitars. It really isn't anybody's business but Ernie's. And from what I hear he plays those, so they're not collecting dust. And another thing...I know a guy that owns about 160-something EB basses. And he has every right to. Some people have a good income and others don't. Thats the way the world is...but its not worth getting bitter over. And its definitely not right to go and attack Ernie and his wife.

Just move on, and have some fun on the forums. This is a great place, and if you treat people with respect, they will do the same to you.

By the way, Ernie, that collection is sick!!! I think we need a 20th Silo in Glacier Blue Sparkle. Haha.

And movie stars make millions of dollars...MILLIONS. Therefore buying a $25,000.00 handbag is like us buying a can of soda.

We certainly are more than capable. You just don't seem to have realised (otherwise you might have apologised by now), that some of your comments have been way way out of line.

Ernie doesn't have to justify a thing to you or anyone else. In fact muchos respect to Ernie for keeping a dignified silence.

I used to work for a man who collected Ferraris and other exotic cars (I think he had about 20 at the time). Perhaps we ought to have a pop at him next?

I haven't got the opportunity to leave a comment here...man you are my idol! What a collection! Hats off! How did you gather all those beautiful guitars? They are simply amazing! If you want to get rid of any of those guitars I swear to treat them carefully welcome them with arms wide open If I were you I'd have a problem to even pick 5 favorites...My honest congratulations!
