Here is one to add to the database. If anyone can provide further information, please do!

EB - Music Man Sabre
Serial Number = 25232 (no prefix)
Finish = Copperhead Bronze
Pick Guard = White
Fret Board = Rosewood
Logo/Headstock = '85 to '87
Neck Plate = Absent of "Made in the USA" (EB)
Bridge = EB w/7/16" Thumb screws

I purchased this bass used in Milwaukee back sometime in 1992 and would like to learn more about it if possible.

Welcome to the Forum CWS3.

Your Bass wont be "Copperhead Bronze". That was a limited edition finish brought out a few years ago. I'm extremely interested though. Can you email me pics or perhaps put your Bass in the pic Gallery. I'd love to see front and rear of the headstock and also the bridge :)

Dan or Aziah can help with the finish and date.

The EB Sabres are great looking Basses.

Rod,

I have sent the pictures you requested directly to your e-mail address in two messages. If I can get the file sizes right, I will put them on the Picture Gallery.

Please let me know if there is anything else you can tell me after checking the pictures. For instance, what other information did I get completely wrong on this.

Thanks much!

CWS3, your Sabre was one of the earliest ones recorded (others made earlier were shipped and not recorded, or records have been lost). We show the production date as March 4 1987. There is no information other than that - including the name of the finish - except that it was shipped to a store called Record Head, still in West Allis, Wisconsin.

Hope this is helpful! As Gavin/Rod has asked - pics please!

I doubled checked the sn and it is 55686. There are no letters before the number.

Unfortunately, we may never know on this one - it could be a case of bridge swap, or it could be erroneous entry at our end ... there is just no way to know for sure. Sorry :(

New Stingray owner/ history interest

Hi, I am new to the EBMM community, I just have bought myself a nice, used EBMM Stingray5. EBMM has always been something special, and when I found the bass, it was like we have been together since loooong time.
The SN: E10374 its a Stingray5 in Fire Engine Red, white perloid pickguard and maple neck. Seems the colour is not very popular, as it is not in the EB clour list anymore.

It is most likely out of late 1999 (Oct.) and plays like a dream
So any hint about the exact build date and the history of the instrument would be great.

A friend of a friend has this beautiful sparkle Stingray just laying around his house, I think I'm gonna buy it from him. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

E32224

EBMM, I would highly suggest that, this bass deserves to be played! This bass has an Autumn Redburst finish and was completed on 7/12/02.

Looking for info on my Dargie

I'm new and probably in the wrong part of the forum. I have a Dargie 5 Stingray HH Serial #E44208. What is the date and how many of this configuration were made. Thanks!

Dan...I've hosted CWS3's Sabre in the Pic Gallery:

HERE

It does look a little like Copperhead. The catalogues going back to the late 1980's say "Special 'Feature' colors offered periodically". This must be a feature colour as it doesn't look like a standard finish from that period. Any ideas?

Wow, nice! My guess is it's an aftermarket paint job. Looks pretty recently done.
